Credit card options whilst not working

So i have tried a few of the online options and they've all returned a no

I have paid all previous loan/card/bill repayments in full and on time up to and including now

No dependents and a low rent and actually have more in cash than the credit card amount I'm applying for. It's just for something to fall back on without touching savings. Had cards in the past and no problems there either

Is it just the fact that I'm not working???

Is there any prepay options now

Used to be a while back when they were all the rage but not really bothered with them. I'm not anyway they'd be a last resort. It would be kinda of just like using your own debit card.

Only benefit I'd assume would be the banks wouldn't be snooping on what your buying

If you only need it as a last resort, the implication is that you will have run out of ready cash, and consequently will have no way to pay back the credit card debt.

The banks know this. Hence the refusals.

I gave one site a false salary figure along with the same expenses and details just to see and yippee I qualified for one

That's only the first hurdle but yeah later on when providing docments backing it up when they ask for them obviously.

But surely based on an ability to pay basis I'd be getting one. Doubt they'd it looking at my circumstances

If I had a salary along with my genuine bills I wouldn't be asking them for one

I would start with the assumption that anyone not working will be refused loans and cards etc

Be surprised if it's anything else

    Yeah

Basically what I was guessing in the opening post. Just seeing if anyone had any experience.

Don't know if a face to face with my regular bank would be any different

99% safe assumption you're wasting your time unless there's a prepay option or something

Any more context on the purpose of card etc maybe theres other options

Basically a fall back card which I'd always have had in the past (and repaid on time)

Normally for big splashouts like Halloween say, or Christmas and New Year sort of thing.

Either way I'd be getting my #### together now. Which is what I'd have done in the past

See something say in the shops now that's of good value for Christmas, the card used to be there while my normal debit and bank card is just for day to day spending

Then have financial manners for the next monthly bill to come out and pay it. Not rocket science really

credit cards have annual fees- if you don’t pay back amount owed, the interest rate charges on a CC will cripple you - what if you have an unexpected demand on your small savings? How do you pay back CC then?

A bank would be irresponsible to allow you to have a CC with very limited income (I assume you’re getting some form of payment per week ?).

Christmas can be a stressful time for people with limited or indeed no income- you may need to decide now what this year will look like for you -ie small presents or indeed just cards sent etc - placing yourself in debt -even for a short length of time- is not advisable. You don’t know what lies ahead and having a bad debt with a bank will limit future options. Even if you were successful which is doubtful, I wouldn’t do it. A loan from a family member would be best option - if you’re so good at paying things back, then they shouldn’t have any issue should they?

Yeah I'll just bat things down for a couple of months and use a prepay and have it on the go

Doesn't really change much for me, just gonna take a month longer. The funds become my own the as opposed to a credit card's

Closing this. It's nonsense. You can't get a c.c. whilst unemployed

O.P. open another similar thread and I'll ban you.
