How to get FTA Satellite Channels & Saorview over IPTV Legitimately

    Hi,

I'm currently living in an apartment where I can't have a satellite dish. I was thinking of installing something like the vbox to stream the FTA satellite channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc.) and saorview channels to both my parents TV (they have a saorview antenna and satellite dish with 4 ports on the LNB) and my house via VPN. What is the best way to legitimately do this? Has anyone had any success combining both into a tvheadend or similar? I was looking at the vbox tv box but not sure if that would work well with saorview etc.

Open to any (legal) suggestions on how to do this.

    Thanks

A zgemma H7S box in your parents and a client mode zgemma box in your apartment would work. I have one in the garage and it works OK. You could set up a wireguard VPN easily enough between your routers, or just web to your parents box (kids do that from Asia no problem)

Currently I can't in the apartment. Only via a satellite dish in Parent's house.

Thanks so much, will look into this. I have two spare Fritzbox 7530s so will set up a VPN for both with that.

Finding it hard to source one - do you know off hand if there's any other Combi box that would work with my one acting as a client?

Any enigma2 based box will work as master or client. The great thing about the zgemma was it had 2 satellite tuners so you could watch and record and a single saorview tuner. I added a USB saorview tuner which then meant you could watch and record multiple saorview also.

I'm not 100% sure but I think any reasonable enigma2 box such as https://www.satworld.ie/zgemma-h8-2h-combo-s2t2-linux-set-top-box.html should do
