It will be the same old tactic, "we have all the cards, your playing with world war 3" except I imagine it could go as far as "give us your land in exchange for peace, ill tell putin to stop killing Ukrainians"

And of course this will be all bullshit.

Putin has hands on the trump controller.

new figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau show that exports fell a staggering 96.8 percent in June this year compared to 2024.

Trump will fix this. Most likely by getting rid of the report or statisticians.

Crocs US sales tumble as shoppers choose trainers Share price down 30% as customers rein in spending.

Crocs' low-end consumer "is most sensitive to increases, is most nervous and in some cases, is not leaving the house," he said.

He said these people were not buying new Crocs as they were worried how their personal finances would be hit by President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs across imports to the US.

Not saying this is the Daily Mail's version of fake news or that Bild took the interpretation of discussion between Steve Witkoff and Putin wrong… The Mail claims that Steve Witkoff, US special envoy to the Middle East, may have misinterpreted Vladimir Putin's terms for ending Russia's war in Ukraine as he worked to set up a face-to-face with President Trump, per a new report.

According to Bild [as quoted by the D/M) on Wednesday, Witkoff spoke with the Russian president at the Kremlin for about three hours, after which Trump praised his negotiator for making 'great progress'. However, a report from BILD, a German outlet, suggested that Witkoff was under the impression that when Putin demanded a 'peaceful withdrawal' from Kherson and Zaporizhia, he meant that he wanted Russian soldiers to withdraw. But according to insiders, Putin actually meant he wanted Ukrainian forces to give up these tactically-important cities.

If only it were that Witkoff and Putin weren't able to speak in English together without errors in interpretation. Maybe the Ukrainian speaking to Bild is the fake news source trying to right a future wrong on where the final armistice lines are drawn.

In any case, I see Trump's claim that Russia will be let hold on to the Ukrainian territory it seized in its war on Ukraine simply more of his knifing Ukraine's citizens in the back in favour of the man who invaded Ukraine. More of Trump's lies and stupid attempts at fake news. He simply is no match on all fronts for the dictator from St Petersburg.

Some-one thinks the labour figures are correct. A top official at the Federal Reserve said Saturday that this month's stunning, weaker-than-expected report on the U.S. job market is strengthening her belief that interest rates should be lower. Michelle Bowman was one of two Fed officials who voted a week and a half ago in favour of cutting interest rates.

Bowman and a fellow dissenter lost out after nine other Fed officials voted to keep interest rates steady, as the Fed has been doing all year. The Fed's chair, Jerome Powell, has been adamant that he wants to wait for more data about how President Donald Trump's tariffs are affecting inflation before the Fed makes its next move.

At a speech during a bankers' conference in Colorado on Saturday, Bowman said that “the latest labour market data reinforce my view” that the Fed should cut interest rates three times this year. The Fed has only three meetings left on the schedule in 2025.

The jobs report that arrived last week, only a couple of days after the Fed voted on interest rates, showed that employers hired far fewer workers last month than economists expected. It also said that hiring in prior months was much lower than initially thought.

AFAIK there has been no decision made on whether she is eligible or not, given that this year the European Sports Court ruled in her favour. I think she is taking a step back from running anyway but I would still love to see her competing, just to piss Donny Shitezinpants off.

Great to see Democrats finally growing a back bone on the Trump administration's attempts to steal house seats to avoid getting pummelled in the midterms next year.

Well.. at least at a local level and the governers anyway. Their congressional delegation could do with waking up a bit.

    Let's be clear…

If Trump wasn't handed everything to him, he'd be struggling to put a roof over his own head.

Nothing says "the elite", quite like picking on the poor.

Everyone f**king knows that if it was only the Dems all over the files, Trump would have released them ages ago.

Such an epic fail at distraction.

I wonder did staffers have a bet over who can get him to bang in a meaningless phrase? Someone made a few quid on ‘thank you for your attention to this matter’ I’d imagine he thinks it sounds very smart.

There are no 'left wing billionaires'

It couldn't be more oxymoronic of a term.

    Ban billionaires

More proof of how incredibly stupid and ignorant they are.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It's hilarious. Like someone had to insert a recurring phrase at the end of his posts to make him sound even more infantile and stupid.

    Edit: re 29604 above

Caster's situation is completely different to trans cases. She grew up a girl and is just different. I fully support her.

I don't think she wants to run anymore, i think all the legal battles have taken a toll. She's coaching now.

Trump has made a deal with AMD and Nvidia to sell their 5G chips to China. They give 15% of their revenue for Chinese sales to the US government.

Trump has been going on about "national security" issues for years with selling these chips to China. How does this deal fix the national security issues?

After 10 years of his sh1t, I am still surprised sometimes at how very, very small, insecure and petty he is…

The mad thing is , that Trump wants interest rates to be lowered - Which is what this person is saying they should do based on the really weak employment numbers. That makes sense in terms of economic policy.

But Trump doesn't like those numbers as it shows how sh!t his "economy" is, so if he gets a new person in the BLS to fudge the numbers to show all kinds of job growth , then the Fed don't have the justification to lower Interest rates so he won't get that (he needs the lower interest rates as it allows him to refinance all his debts at lower cost).

The Truth saves him money , but shows he's an economic illiterate, but lies will sort of hide his stupidity but cost him money.

Decisions decisions. What wins Ego or Wallet???

Nvidia and AMD have agreed to hand over 15% of the money they earn from the sales of A.I. chips in China, the chips they have EXPORTED from the U.S to China. Nvidia will share revenue from sales of its H20 chip, while the pledge applies to AMD’s MI308 chips. Apparently this is in return for the export licences the Trump Admin gave the companies. It's almost, just not quite, the same as reverse tariffs being applied to U.S companies. That Latin line Trump dislikes "Quid Pro Quo" comes to mind

Report on the Euronews media site.

It does show some in the Fed can square the circle. I'm thinking the Fed member will still keep her job as she is a new team member who, despite her statement, did follow the overall Trump policy line in opposing the Fed Chair. Bessent or some-one else on the team may have got through Trump's brain-wall.

Is his logic to make US chips more expensive for Chinese or to discourage US exports or what?

Watching YouTube news and comment videos shows European leaders hammering JD Vance and Trump over the planned Trump/Putin meeting, quotes from the UK and Germany make it very clear that there is no chance that any meaningful decisions will be accepted as a result of a meeting that does not include Ukraine and Europe.

Meanwhile nothing on BBC, the only mention of Trump is him clearing homeless out of DC. No mention of meetings and discussions in Kent involving Vance.

Reuters have a brief article https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/europe-races-try-influence-us-position-ahead-trump-putin-talks-2025-08-11/ . No mention on CNN. Its difficult to know what is happening, but the impression the media gives is - nothing much. And yet it does seem as though the whole of the EU - including UK - the US, Russia and Ukraine have been having meetings and making statements about it.

I suspect his logic is that soliciting kickbacks is the only way he knows how to do business

His actions in office tell another tale e.g. TikTok was also meant to have been shut down or sold off in the US - he stopped that.

Afair he's been told it helps his popularity with the "youth". Was some lobbying also, by rich investors in TikTok.

Probably similar take with Nvidia and GPUs - a lot of lobbying from their CEO/investors about all that money to be made in China and the $ signs started flashing in Trump's eyes.

Anyway, there is no way I can credit the US would actually come to blows with China over some attack on an Asian US ally or a blockade of Taiwan say with a Trump or Vance admin. in charge, so 🤷.

His actions in office tell another tale e.g. TikTok was also meant to have been shut down or sold off in the US - he stopped that.

Completely illegally stopped that. The law that TikTok should by now be shut down is still on the books, and he's just blatantly ignoring it with no real justification.

It is in some ways a minor enough thing, and in others just indicative of the complete breakdown in the rule of law and the entire governmental system.

Export duties are also explicitly banned in the Constitution.

Didn't know it was illegal (the halt on implementing that law)?!

Speaking of laws , there is a court case moving forward towards the Supreme court over his Tariffs . Specifically his use of various Emergency/National Security legislation to implement them without going through congress.

Multiple States and a number of companies are suing him saying that whole "National security" excuse that he has been using is invalid and that all his new tariffs should have to be ratified by congress 1st.

In theory he should be easily able to get approval for the tariffs via congress as the GOP control both chambers , but it would dramatically slow him down and also stop the TACO nonsense and the threats of stupid rates he loves so much.
