Making friends at 27

I'm 27 and male and I want to make friends. How do you make friends in Dublin at 27? My hobbies include playing video games, reading manga and watching anime and movies.

What about old school friends? I went abroad at 19 until I was 37 so I had lost track of everyone but I got back in touch with a few old friends from my younger days when I came back.

I didn't really have any friends in high school. I had a friend in college but I stopped talking to him because I found out he was violent and cut contact with him for safety.

I volunteer at the local soccer club a couple of days a week. A lot of the people around there make friends through being players or refs or the parents of kids. It's a very friendly place. Maybe try the local soccer/rugby/gaa club. I get invited to charity days and end of season awards where I can meet people.

Think about some new hobbies. Specifically hobbies that involve leaving the house and being where other people are.
