Great first 3 buys. Christ if we get a dm and keeper its the best window ever. Coupled with a proper training facility is this what a properly run footbal club feels like. We've been in the wilderness too long.

And hopefully the days of messing up deals for young players is over too. Wouldn't pay €2M to get Sesko at 16 instead only offering half that I believe. Was it Hannibal also that could have been bought for €1M but the club ended up paying €10M.

Aye. Getting in players like Heaven bodes well.

    BBC Gossip

Paris St-Germain expect offers from Chelsea, Manchester United or Inter Milan for Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, 26, who has become surplus to requirements at the French club.

    (ESPN)

Manchester United will look to sign a defensive midfielder and a new goalkeeper now they have finalised their pursuit of Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko, 22, from RB Leipzig.

Donarumma would be a dream signing but can't imagine we'd sign him whilst Onana was still at the club. Even if bayinder moves on I'd imagine it's more likely we'd move for a Lammens

    I slightly worry about Donarumma

He's a very good keeper but he can make mistakes and he flaps at crosses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,961 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Donnaruma has shown himself to be quite error prone.

It’s not coincidental that PSG want to upgrade on him.

Please stop buying players that the European elite are trying to get rid of.

Even if Onana was to leave I'd say the club would still be hesitant to sign Donnarumma. Donnarumma and his agent will likely want huge fees to sign on top of massive wages.

official announcement tomorrow. wonder will he be on the bench?

Manchester United and RB Leipzig have signed all documents for Benjamin Šeško deal!

The contracts have been approved after medical today, all sealed between clubs for €85m package.

Šeško signs on Saturday morning ahead of unveiling at Old Trafford.

No way he'll make the bench without training. He'll be paraded to the fans before kickoff

Chelsea will get him I reckon

Think Chelsea would pass given the finances. Don't think Donnarumma is the type for a lower wage but with a long contract. Think he goes to Madrid next summer on a free or cashes in for Saudi Arabia. He'll just follow the money which is another reason United will likely avoid him.

    You have

    Elanga 55

    Madueke 50

    Kudus 50

Surely we should be getting that much for Garna whose played close to 200 games for utd.

What Chelsea want to pay is 30ish, when you look at it, Everton sign dewsbury-hall for 25m and he's barely played a game in 2 years and 5 years older.

Garna, puskas award, in the top 5 in Europe of scoring goals for his age group, potentially could be great.

Chelsea did background checks and don't see an attitude problem reported.

Garna was 60m quoted at Christmas,

Surely we should stay firm at that when you see the prices of players in similar positions who are effectively worse.

If a choice between mandrake or garna for the same price of 50, you'd pick garna etc.

Problem was it was to publicised by his camp that he had to look for a new club.

He's a 55m player easily. Trumps all of the above players in every sense.

I mean, DeGea flapped at crosses and is considered a very good GK for us.

We have the king of error prone in Onana, never seen a gk like him with the amount of mistakes he does.

Donnaruma would want massive wages especially coming off on a CL win so its a no for me. I'd imagine you both have seen more than me so value your points. No point changing one version of Onana for another. Onana did get to a CL final after all amd we signed him the next summer and has been a disaster. V.2 in Donnaruma no thanks.

We do need a upgrade though. Any GK signing is always a risk imo.

I'd rather get Baleba in and stick with Onana and go again next summer.

If Baleba gets done along with a few out the door, its an outstanding summer window for me.

    Something massive to build on.

On way over now to fiorentina match. 12.45 kick off = lack of sleep travelling overnight, just hope the team put in a good shift to get ready and warmed up for the big one next weekend

A major annoyance with Onana is the smugness he carries on with after each disaster. He acts like nothing has happened - there’s a fine line between confidence and delusion. Everything about the Lyon fixtures. For someone to be such a liability and to strut around like he’s Schmeichel, it’s difficult to comprehend. Where does he get the confidence from? He looks like a clown compared to everyone else in training videos. There doesn’t appear to be anything professional about him. The risks he took playing football in some muddy street in the summer. It was a massive mistake and there’s no way he makes it into the 26/27 season. Cut the loss and move on with someone who is switched on and is competent.

That must be why they were trying to negotiate a new contract with him.

players have just arrived and are out signing autographs. think there's a few from here over there with kids so hopefully some autographs from their heroes

The Lyon games highlighted everything wrong with Onana.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,049 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

That home fixture against Lyon where a few minutes in he starts celebrating in front of the fans taunting them when we scored the first goal. Like sit the **** down calamity Jane did you not play absolute dirt in the first leg dropping two big clangers to make it 2-2.

Ten Hags ensuring gift to United.

Maybe he'll do us a favor and try to sign him again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,089 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

    I'm looking forward to today's game @12:45

Nice to have some excitement around the club again

Just get me that CM and GK and It'll be our best transfer window in years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,049 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Were we linked with any keepers before signing Onana or anything like scouting department thinks this GK but ETH thinks Onana?

Hopefully them days are over. Fair enough a manager should have some input into signings but shouldn't have final say. Especially from day one. I'm sure Pep has a big say with City but he's earned it. Was it Julian Brandt that Klopp wanted but the club wanted Salah in his early days.

Didn't help that we got bent over and rode on the fees either when buying some of these players under ETH but hopefully that's fixed after INEOS came.

Think they've done well in getting players that if Amorim is was sacked the next manager in isn't trying to rebuild again. Maybe a LB because I wouldn't fancy Dorgu in a back four but after moving on so many wingers lately he also covers LW and RW so it's a decent signing for a handy fee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,261 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

I think his desperation to join Chelsea and our desperation to sell brings the fee down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,265 ✭✭✭kowloonkev

Are we desperate to sell? We have almost a full year to get rid of him if that's our intention. He won't want to be sitting on his hands. He actually wants to play. If United settle for less than £50m then that's a step backwards after recent improvement.

Surely he'd be a classic West Ham signing, they're always willing to swing big in an attempt to join the big boys. They have money after selling Kudus and he'd get a move to London, maybe not the one he wants, but we can't have everything we want.

Just met my bro and nephew outside OT (not getting out of bed early meself) lads buzzing with a jersey riddle with signatures. Delighted for him at his first game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,049 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Chelsea are also just good at selling unwanted players. Something that hopefully changes more under INOES.
