Era, there's more to that story than meets the eye. For one, it seems like the worker was placing fake orders for food (for himself), and then pretending to throw it out but saving it for himself to eat!

Edit: Ignore the above, just saw the full original footage... Still, he was >18 and so an adult at the end of the day...

He was 16, I thought, not 18? So still a minor

There's also the part where the manager seems to have known the guy was taking food (which was going in the bin anyway) and let it pile up until the amount "stolen" was enough that he could be charged with a crime

As they said in the opening, why not just fire the kid if they'd known about it? I suspect it was because they were worried about the backlash of firing a minor with a disability and decided to let him keep going until it was a crime and it would be easier to get rid of him

And then there's the whole thing about getting the cops out to arrest the kid. Seriously if that isn't emblematic of the issues in America then I don't know what is. In any other country the cops would at most have taken statements and told the kid to f**k off home and wait for a letter from the court

But in the land of the free everyone gets a humiliating search and handcuffs slapped on them. Good thing he mentioned the box cutter in his pocket, the cop would probably have shot him 15 times if he'd forgotten about it

Seems the story is more than what social media makes it out to be, there's also a side saying he was just taking food to the staff room and eating it

Waiting until the amount constitutes a felony. Walmart do this with shoplifters.

Bacteria breaking down plastics means that they're turning it into someyhing else, much like manure isn't safe to eat but it's great to feed your vegetables.

The stuff in the frying pan is most likely limescale, Evian is supposed to be European, so it should comply with EU regulations. Bread bouncing back: industrial bread is infamous for its additives, but proper fresh bread can bounce back and be that soft, e.g. when prepared with yudane/tang zhong.

Having said that, US food quality is diabolically bad. Still - doesn't anyone there ever bother reading a label to see the list of ingredients? Or do they even have them?

That video also tells me they should go back to primary school. The onion? Perfectly normal - it's the translucent skin in between the layers that acts as a waterproof membrane, that's why it looks reflective - it's an optical illusion, if you will.

More: the bananas looked like they were either frozen and thawed or semi-dehydrated, the watermelon looked like it was picked too early and half rotted instead of ripening properly, the fish looked like it was some rehydrated cod, bacteria can produce bioluminescence, even in sushi and cheese. Reconstituted "meat" is nothing new, unfortunately. Again, having said that, there are laws in the EU against injecting meat and fish with chemicals that can make them retain water (aside from everything, the excess water evaporates in the pan and you're left with only a morsel of food instead of a full portion and you've paid water at the price of steak, say) - I'm pretty sure there's nothing against it in the US.

Finally, only a few years ago the US had planned to use Agent Orange in agriculture.

That video spreads a lot of misinformation and the chap speaks like a human clickbait.
