Non-SUV suggestion

My ancient SUV is finally on the way out so it's time for an upgrade.

Looking for recommendations for a replacement -I think I'd prefer a car, not an SUV, preferably hybrid rather than electric. Hatchback for more boot space, and we're all tall, so good cabin space necessary.

Not the main family car but will be used for trips across the country reasonably frequently, as well as being filled with sports/hiking gear on a regular basis.

Budget? Standard hybrid or plug in hybrid?

Want new or happy with used?

Sounds like a skoda octavia would suit you, available new, nearly new and not new at all.

Available in different fuel types, recent ones are anyway.

Happy with a used car, no more than 3-4 years old. Budget up to 30k. Plug in hybrid preferred I think, but don't really mind...

    Will check the Octavia, thanks!
