Midfield as usual a big problem

Nah. We moved the ball better in the first half than any time in this half.

Dorgus passes that to Hojlund its a goal.

Super ball by Mount, hard to fault Dorgu for taking it on but it's one you need to score if you don't play the simple ball for the tap in.

Ya true for 30 mins but then it went to **** until Bruno came back and it wasn't the midfield two doing the progressing first half

One of these days he's gonna injure himself doing that.

2-2 FT, think we are champs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,235 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

I know its only a friendly but right at the end Bruno throwing a strop instead of chasing down the ball!

100%. i'd rather the big display of kicking the post is put away, and rather he has a word with the players. maybe he has tried that, i dunno.

i still want to keep him as a rotation option to whatever striker we end up signing.

Nice to get the first trophy of the season squared away early, 1 down 3 to go

We'll obviously improve on last season but I just can't see a top 6 unless a DM and striker comes in. GK too but not a hope in signing 3 more players we need to challenge for top 6.

At a do in Longford tonight and this legend is giving a very candid personal input on things past present and future

There used to be a 'choccy's diary' segment in one of the old United magazines. It'd be the most mundane stuff like him going down to Dixons for a replacement hard drive, that sort of stuff. No sports cars for that lad.

Is it 17 odd million won for this tour in America?

Must say either way it was very well prepped by the club. No long distance travelling between games ect.

I used to enjoy reading it…..a very bright footballer, qualified accountant, but never used that avenue for work……he’s a very deep thinking character in reality….remember one entry from one of his old style equivalents of the modern day ‘blog’……

    Went something like this-

Tuesday- Got up,had a fry for breakfast, went to training…..on way back from training the missus rang and told me to pick up some clothes from Laundry.

A nice new shop window display in ‘Decorplan’ caught my eye…..went in and bought two cans of pale cream paint. Was delighted with myself as have a plan for where to use them.

Landed in home with the paint…..the missus goes ‘Where’s the bloody Laundry??!!’😡

Ooops!……..got the picture no sound treatment and no dinner that night!😳😂

Unsurprisingly they ain’t still together 🙂

and now we have DDG's testimonial (sort of) to look forward to.

if 17m, its a great return for the tour

Didnt know he was getting one. Thats class, he was instrumental for us for a good few years and after he left the club the way they did it, left a bad taste in the fans mouths.

    When is the testimonial?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,716 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

next weekend. its not really a testimonial cos he plays with fiorentina. more an acknowledgment his exit was handled so badly its embarrassing.

Give me a player kicking the post angrily because the ball wasnt squared to him for a tap in everyday of the week over a quiet word in the dressing room! Anything else is bollox and he deserves to be laughed out of the dressing room!!

I appreciated your post. That's why I replied to Nitro who for some reason wanted an argument when my post wasn't even that negative. I was just saying 'get on with it'.

The fact his "upgrade" is one of the worst keepers ever at the club made his treatment all the worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭Bleating Lamb

After a relatively slow enough start at his new club de Gea has performed very well in the intervening period.

One of the incredibly frustrating things is a large part of the club brains trust thinking at the time of de Gea’s sale was his ‘poor’ distribution of the ball on the deck alone was holding the team back.

We go and sign Onana for a huge chunk of change…..and it actually turns out that he is probably worse dealing with trying to pass the ball out on the deck than David ever was!🙈😡

I don’t ever recall de Gea putting multiple balls out over the sideline in any game, whereas when Onana tries to go long especially he puts around 5+ ‘passes’ out over the bloody sideline per game.

And don’t get me started on Onana’s lack of presence in the box, something a young de Gea struggled with…..but had improved well with this aspect of keeping in his latter years at Utd…..

And I know which one of them I would trust more to pull off an important match winning save…….and it wouldn’t be Calamity Onana!🙈😎

    Rant over!😂

Ps- Hate to say it but going on pre-Season form alone Heaton should have the starting spot v Arsenal…..let him play until he has a game with a few howlers….something that won’t happen imo as he is a steady,if old pair of hands.Utd have a tough start to Season,I fear that with Onana in goal from the start he will cost us 3+ points in the first 5 games.

Degea was the worst goalkeeper in the Italian league for stopping crosses he is still permanently on his line,

It's hilarious to see people still try big him up there is a reason he is at fiorentina when the whole of football could have picked him up for free, and he could be signed easy enough given he is in his last year of his contract, will we see clubs lining up to sign him in jan on free or will he be passed over again.

One of the most overrated players ever and getting better because people don't watch him anymore
