    Hi all

Does anyone know what could be causing this. Can come on first thing in the morning or come on and off during driving

When comes on, power dips and if it goes off, power increases again and so on.once lights are on, the steering also gets harder

The lights that come on are the traction in light, abs light, airbag light and then the EM light

Loose clock info and speed dial goes to zero. When lights leave, all goes back to normal

Also the information light comes on to say

    " Hill start assist unavailable"

Has anyone any idea where to start???

    Ford connect 2017

    Cheers

    Brian

Is it a hybrid? If so, the first thing I would check is the 12V battery.

Sounds like the battery. Might be worth getting a proper diagnostic done tho.

    Lads

Not a hybrid. The diagnostic comes up as data not available. Like code 0415 or something like that

    It's a ford connect 1.5 diesel

Almost certainly an electrical issue. The 0415 code online seems to point at the ABS Module.

Did you use a cheap scanner? P0415 is an engine fault, whereas U0415 is an ABS fault.

Cheap scanners can only scan for engine codes, which might explain why your engine light is on, but not the other faults.

    Yes you're right. It's U0415.

Can't seem to find fault thou 😭

There's a diagnostic specialist that reckons he can brake it down with all his gear to find or put us in right direction to where fault is

    Abs sensor was replaced

Did you check the 12V battery and the alternator?

If either/both are acting up then the electrical systems aren't going to be getting enough power and will cause all sorts of incorrect readings which will lead to all manner of errors and fault codes as the ECU isn't getting valid readings.

You are absolutely wasting your time (and money) paying for diagnostics until you have checked the battery and alternator.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this issue before

My 2017 skoda superb brakes made a loud scraping noise last wk, and now I'm getting warning lights on dash....abs, traction control, hill assist...they go off when brake, and return later when driving, sometimes different faults like check tyre pressure, handbrake, stabilizing control etc

No mechanics about until Tuesday seeing was a bank holiday:(

I'd suspect an ABS sensor failure. It can be used to check tyre pressures and is needed for traction control as well as brakes.

Usually ABS sensor. Probably unrelated to the scraping noise

    Thanks for reply

Yea did a loud scraping type noise also, once brakes hard went away

Do advance pitstop or firstdrive diagnose and change these, or would it be a longer job and car at garage for few hours

Its only a 30 minute job. Any mechanic can do it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 498 ✭✭buzzing147

Thanks, I'll get it checked tomoro on diagnostics, hopefully nothing too bad!

I had a scraping noise on my Hyundai Tucson last year, it was generally when braking at low speeds. Turned out to be a broken ABS ring

Lights havnt come on since, yet to get it diagnosed, will try to tomorrow, thanks for replys

Hi, did a diagnostic test and no errors showed up, is this normal? Abs and traction control lights were on that last day, off now since, thought theyd have been stored

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭mk7r

What kind of scanner was used because there will definitely be faults stored

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 498 ✭✭buzzing147

Not sure but ran diagnostics nothing showed up, lights back on today traction control abs hill assist hbrake warnings etc, getting it scanned in morning by different person with better equip, hopefully shows which sensor, so can go buy one and get it installed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭mk7r

Cheap equipment will only scan obd engine codes, expensive equipment will scan all modules and manufacturer specific codes.

You will definitely have codes stored

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 498 ✭✭buzzing147

Yea it found these codes, he said one wheel was the wheel bearing it might of caused abs, and another wheel was abs.

Rught rear abs speed sensor, implausible signal, and mechanical malfunction

Left front abs wheel speed sensor, magnetic field too low

I forget now which wheel he said was the bearing🙄

Will get it fixed next week anyway

    Thanks for replys

Wondering if anyone seen this before...cars fixed now no faults etc, replaced abs sensors and a bearing, but before getting fixed, I revved heavily car skidded a bit and a glowplug light came on out of blue and lost power, had to pull...once I turned off and restarted it went fine again. This was just before I got the abs issue fixed. No faults showed up on pc for glowplug loss power etc. hopefully it was related to the abs traction etc lights on at the time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭mk7r

The car thought that it was skidding as one wheel was reading 0 and the rest were normal. Absolutely faults can actually be quite dangerous and the steering wheel can randomly jerk to the left or right to try and correct a slide that it thinks is happening
