Leapmotor might be worth a look when they launch here in Sept OP. Same distributor in Ireland as Peugeot so you will probably have better options for trade in too.

A few months ago I bought a demo Renault Megane ETech 60 Kw for 32k had 8k knocked off the new price

It's our first EV and I highly recommend it. Extremely happy with the car.

How do you rate the e208? Idiot question but does it cost the same to.charge an EV with a range of 300 v one with 500

Bigger battery = bigger cost to charge. Same as petrol/diesel

I have a 350 range EV and a 450 range EV, approx figures.

350 range takes 52kwh to fully charge it which costs approx 11 euro during the day and about 5.50 at night

The 450 range one takes 77kwh to fully charge and costs about 15 euro daytime and 7.50 nighttime.

The 350 car costs slightly less to drive any given distance because its smaller, lighter and hence more efficient.

So you have 2 things to consider, battery size and efficiency. Battery size and range was seen as all important in EVs years ago, owners that have had them a while now tend to put strong emphasis on efficiency.

As @User1998 correctly said above, its the exact same concept as ICE.

I always remember people asking how much it cost to fill the tank of cars years ago, which I felt was irrelevant without asking how much the tank actually held or how far it would go on that full tank.

The cost to charge an EV depends on how many kWh the battery is and your electricity rate. In general, expect a 500 range car to cost about 1.6 times the cost of a 300 range car to fully charge, but you would be charging it less often because it would hold more electricity (assuming you do the same mileage in both).

The e208 is a lovely car to drive, I can't really fault it day to day. I have 110,000 kms on mine since 2020 and it's always been a smooth ride and nippy when I need to it be. It's small inside, but I so am I, so it doesn't bother me.

There have been a few minor issues that were fixed under warranty.

It is let down badly by an app that will become randomly become nigh unusable throughout the year for a week or two at a time. A large part of the benefit of an electric car is being able to charge over night with a cheap rate. The app in theory will let you postpone charging to whatever time suits. The app will every so often decide that it cannot connect to the car, despite standing right beside it. Or it will connect, but it will but it will be 5 minutes ago, before you plugged it in, so you can't turn on the postponed charging (and it needs to be plugged in and charging to activate the delay). Recently it seems a bit more reliable at connecting, but it seems to have fixed it by asking for the security pin almost every time you try to do anything, but at a 5-10 second delay after pressing a button. The security pin you cannot deactivate, even though the phone has a security pin.

It's not the biggest issue, but it being so bad so regularly is infuriating. It can make a solid 8/10 car feel like it's 5/10 if you need to use the app regularly.
