Before this game Sheehan had only lost 1 lineout in 40 throws. Think he's lost 4 or 5 today? Oz have done a number on the Lions tonight. Doesn't help that your starting locks both went off injured early in the game.

Lions are very lucky they weren’t up against one of the 3 Southern Hemisphere teams that are actually half decent.

These lads are ranked below 3 points of the 4 Lions nations.

They were blessed to win this series.

Aussie beat England and should have beaten Ireland in November. They're not a bad side.

The Lions have been terrible this match. How many lineouts have they given Aussie? Madness.

These Kangaroos are celebrating like they just won the fifa World Cup or champions league. It’s just a friendly match, and it’s rugby.

Just thinking here how badly this Lions side would have been beaten in New Zealand or South Africa over the last 8 weeks.

Yes, they come away with a series win against a mediocre Aussie squad, historically. But the Lions have been neither dominant nor convincing in really any of the matches since they kicked off against Argentina in Dublin.

That may partly be a function of who has missed out and been lost to injury as the tour has gone on, but that cannot solely be to blame. And a review as critical as if the series had been lost will be necessary, to reflect on game plan and ethos for the future.

After the opprobrium they have shipped in the months leading up, the Wallabies can rightly claim a moral victory as they reflect on a fraught period for them. A number of their individuals certainly stood out far more in the Tests than any Lion can really claim to have.

Farrell's decision to start a basically unchanged team really paid off

An embarrassing loss. Horrendous performance from nearly everybody. I think the only two who can be given credit are Keenan and JGP.

In hindsight maybe changes would have been better. If you lost then you can just shrug and point to the changes, now you just shrug and point to fatigue and a little bad luck. If you lose 3 players to HIA's it will disrupt you. The loss of Itoje and Ryan meant you lose one lineout option. It means Australia only need to focus on your 2 remaining locks and it means you are going to struggle in the lineouts.

Other pieces of bad luck, conditions meant the game is tighter so Skelton is not running around and lasts longer. The weather break means both Skelton and Tupou get a 2nd wind.

Australia deserved to win, they have used the luck they got and they showed more hunger in this test.

    At least Ryan looks OK.

Farrell really made a balls of his squad usage and bench.

Conditions and the forwards not getting on the front foot. Starts at the front. Were the Australian backline much better?

Loosing both second rows killed the pack

Most of these players won a series in NZ a few years ago. The decline of these Irish players is sad to see.

It's very hard listening to Sky commentary. "Who's going to throw the lineout? Kelleher is off the pitch!"

    Sheehan will Warburton you eejit.

Keenan,Curry and Beirne were pick of the Lions for me.Thought JGP and especially Russell had poor games.

In defeat it will always be like that. If they had won you would have praised the fact he focused on the 3-0. If they changed and lost, he would have gotten criticism for too many changes. The only time he would not have been criticised is if they won.

Referees really not doing World Rugby any favours when it comes to punishing shots to the head. Sheehan very lucky in the first half and a clear as day hit on Beirne looked at by the TMO and completely ignored by the officiating team.

It was a lions team or did you think it was just Irish players playing.

Aussies were good today, the far hungrier side and good value for their win.

Don’t think any Lions really did themselves justice today, but hard to get the intensity right when you’ve already won the series. Backs were particularly poor.

Hope James Ryan is okay - it was a horrendous hit he took.

Between the weather, the injuries and the stoppages, I wouldn’t read anything into that.

Series win was the objective and it’s all that will be remembered.

    Well done to Farrell.

Delighted for Tadgh Beirne getting that recognition - he’s been immense this test series.
