Just tried adding my Turgame voucher with my Turkey vpn on with Netflix, got a "try later" message, is this the sign of doom?

If you have EUR currency set and you add voucher to basket you are greeted with this message

This payment method is only available with TRY currency. Please switch your currency to continue.

There is now only one card payment provider (plus TL wire transfer and Binance Pay) but
payment via Revolut worked. my guess is this is more about fees. Also the indent check via SMS was new to me. (But worked with non Turkish number)

Just got this message the other day. Been using turgame vouchers for a year or so since I opened this account. Is the jig up even if I add another voucher. Seems I still have option to redeem a code

sorry you misunderstood. My comment was about using revolut to pay for turgame vouchers. Not using revolut as payment method.
I haven’t done that - wasn’t prompted by Netflix - added/ redeemed vouchers yesterday.

ah ****. Then the question is whether to rush and buy last remaining gift cards and redeem them - and still running the risk Netflix to cancel your sub and loosing the balance.

Same issue here lads. I have been via Turkiye for many years (since it became cheaper than Mexico). Anytime I get a new bank card or change bank accounts, the pop up window that chat can throw up to enter my new bank details has worked

But not today. My guess is they got strict and only bank cards residing in Turkiye are now accepted. I don't want to buy gift cards either in case that doesn't work / I lose some or all of my money on them

So I guess it is the end of the road for Netflix for me

yeah. I have 2 month of vouchers left on my account. The Netflix help indicates that you can redeem vouchers after aug 1st. And that if you have gift card credit, you can watch until it’s up. But you need to register payment method (Turkish cards only?) to continue after that.
I don’t want to risk my 2 month by redeeming more vouchers now, but I might buy more vouchers now and redeem them closer to the date current credit runs out. Maybe that gets me to year end.

After having done that exact thing, probably not. Account was cancelled a few days after adding a voucher. Payment methods removed prior to that

If you do try it I’d suggest vpn for 30 days

Anyone cut off on their next billing cycle date? I've gone past 30th July and still going. Didn't add any card details.

I wonder will I get to 19th October and then I'm cut off.

entered voucher code

all good until end of august

fingers crossed

no VPN used for anything

added another and "up to 15th september"

I'm paid up until October or so (will check in a bit) but once/if the Turkish gift card option is gone so will my long standing account with Netflix.

It's simply not worth the Irish sub fee for the content available, most of which (all of it actually) can be found online via Stremio or Syncler etc with a RD account.

It's as simple as that.

Just have to suck up the price increases on the gift cards now.
I just bought near 12 months worth on Turgame, they were the cheapest by a few euro between them, G2A, Eneba etc

Looking back at my March purchases, it’s €20 more expensive per 6 months but still half the price of an Irish sub.

I’m going to buy some gift cards in Turkey next week and try them in the account. They wouldn’t sell me any last year unfortunately so I’ll ask a local friend to pick me up some and make sure they work first.

I finally got booted from Turkey. I was kicked during the first mass culling last year and signed up again straight away using Curve which worked until now. I'm done, it's not worth what they're asking.

I had a look over the weekend, €10.99 for the standard one tv one user whatever way you want to spin it. I think a lot of people if they get banned this time around, wont be signing up again at that price, let alone the premium price!!

Has anyone had any luck purchasing turgame vouchers to load into Netflix recently?

I tried purchasing some with my PTSB account but it’s asking for verification that my mobile number is a Turkish number via a verification text.

Not sure if it’s even worth it to get these vouchers anymore as the impression I’m getting from this thread is that it’s hit and miss if Netflix are accepting these or not?

Here's my take on things.

Netflix, for what you get, is simply not worth the price here in Ireland, it was actually only semi worth it when you were able to get it cheap via México/Turkey etc, but now they've went and tightened that loophole now, even to the point of they're stopping selling Netflix gift cards in Turkey, but to me, it's especially bad form on them when they are booting people out of accounts in fellow EU countries (Poland/Romania etc)

I am not renewing when my current sub expires (via Turkish gift cards) which I think is in October, instead I'll be using Stremio more.

For those of you that don't know what Stremio is, or how it works here's a brief synopsis.

Firstly, Stremio is pretty much useless without having a Real Debrid account (costs $18 for 180 days service) also create a "Trakt" account, (free) this keeps records of what you're watching/progress/next episode etc etc.

Link these accounts to your stremio (within the apps settings) then add a few sources to find your content (all available on Google)

Then you can search for whatever content you like, movies/series/concerts/pretty much whatever you like, you can search for.

There's also a very handy feature where you can filter content, whether it be by movie/box set, and then filter where that content is from, I can't remember all the sources, but this will give you an idea

BBC

Amazon

Hulu

Disney

Netflix

And so on and so forth.

You can also tinkle around with settings and have it set to only show movies in 4k/1080/SD etc etc (you get the gist)

Sounds more complicated than it is. If you've an android phone, set it all up on the app on your phone, then just sign in on the telly, the same settings will carry across.

I've had a long-standing account with Netflix, but can no longer justify what they're charging.
