    Volvo v40 1.6 automatic.

Just got car back from dealer garage(it's an independent dealer that and I have a warranty). They replaced the belt a fortnight ago (took them a week to do the job as it was "complicated". ) Then I discovered an oil leak from the engine a week later. They fixed it and gave it back to me on Thursday. Said it needed a replacement gasket.

    Then today this starts...

I'm starting to seriously question their "mechanic".

When driving I am hearing these sounds:

That 1.6D is a DV6c engine, probably one of the easiest, uncomplicated modern engines to do a timing belt on.

That engine is hunting like mad, something very wrong there. Mechanic could have unplugged a sensor and forgot to plug it back in.

Second video sounds like a turbo wastegate issue, any loss of power? Does that sound happen only when you let off the throttle?

I'm no expert but it seems like a fuelling or fuel/air ratio issue which could be something simple and could have been caused by the mechanic while doing the other work e.g. if he disturbed the MAF sensor connector.

they gave it back to me and said it was an injector misfiring.

Then this week I started smelling a terrible smell of fuel ( diesel even though it's a petrol engine ) and there was a liquid all over the bay.

Engine was also making this sound.

    Any idea?

So they replaced that injector? If your smelling fuel the injector probably isn't sealed properly, or maybe leak from the leak off pipes is more in line with seeing a puddle on top of the engine bay
