And another bad birdie miss by Cink on 17. Harrington on -11, 1 ahead on the last.

    Miguel Bogeys the last.

Padraig 1 ahead of Cink going to 18.

Excellent! Padraig to about 9 ft for birdie on last, much closer than Cink. Great chance now!

And Padraig wins! Hope Roger Maltbie has to interview him!

Senior Open Championship next on the list.

should Cink and Hensby have holed out when Haro had 2 from 10 feet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 401 ✭✭Scrabbel

No, I think Cink would have had to stand on his line.

Dont think they should have done so when Padraig was 10+ feet away.

Looks like Padraig is going to make the cut by the skin of his teeth this afternoon in the Scottish Open. It will be good for him to get four rounds under his belt before next week’s Open Championship.

Having said that, he did it in typical Padraig fashion, dropping two shots over the last 9 holes and missing from under 4 feet for birdie at the par 5 16th.

We can add Senior Open champion to the list. Won by three shots today.

Must say he played very well, driving the ball 300yards had him yards ahead of rest of the field. Great win for him

The prize presentation had a very Irish vibe. The woman representing the R&A was called O'Sullivan and had an Irish accent, the sponsors were represented by Enda Kenny who presented the trophy to Padraig.

Also was very funny to hear English people trying to pronounce Padraig. Some were reasonable efforts, others, not so much.

Paddy is some operator. Getting a bit clichéd now but the speed work he has done gives him a big advantage.

Langer is like Benjamin Button though. Phenomenal that he has kept competing for so long.

I see his win is absolutely buried in the RTE site. They can't have enough articles about the English women's football team that only get clicks by accident. Even Gareth Bale deciding not to become a pro golfer is their main golf headline this morning. What a pathetic organisation.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

RTE don't really go heavy on golf unless it's McIlroy related. Anna Foster came through final qualification for The Women Open this week. Not a mention on the website, Leona Maguire and Lauren Walsh in the field also.

Yes, Ada O'Sullivan has been a key member of the organising committee of 5 for the British Open, the British Senior's Open and British Ladies Open for the past 5 years now. This is her last year doing this role.

As well as being an outstanding Irish amateur international golfer herself in her day, she has also previously captained the B&I Curtis Cup team who defeated the USA team that contained Michele Wie at the time iirc. So Ada has some serious golfing pedigree!!

Yeah, I watched it & I'd highly recommend the highlights that I watched last night also. Harrington may have ridden his luck a bit in Saturday's round but he was simply outstanding in his final round imho. Brilliant driving, approach shots and short game and , anytime he did get out of position made some great saves or attempts at saves. He was actually unlucky with 5 or so putts that shaved the hole , so could easily have been 2-3 shots better at the finish also. A brilliant win by an absolutely amazing & amicable champion. And they say nice guys rarely finish on top. Well Padraig is one of those rare ones so!!

100PC agree. He was imperious on Sunday, hardly missed a shot the last few holes. He must be the longest on the Champion's Tour, gives him a massive advantage over the rest of the 50+ gang.

Playing both courses at Sunningdale in September. Watching this really whet the whistle
