Yeah its just showing "add to wishlist" for me on the app. But it also says I already own another edition. Which is the free trial they did when the game was released. Idk if thats causing any issues with the PS4/PS5 edition on the store.

Worked last night, though had to go through the checkout rather than just clicking "Add to library"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 2,498 ✭✭✭Niska

Yeah - Diablo was an issue (couldn't add it yesterday - could today, but indirectly by 'purchasing' it for E0) - may be due to the pre release Beta - if you had that downloaded before the system had you flagged as owning the full game (at least for the monthly system of adding them to the library).

I never previously downloaded the beta or game trial and still couldn't download Diablo 4 yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,218 ✭✭✭moonboy52

There were two options when i added it yesterday. I think it was 'Game' and a dropdown for 'Game' (so two Game)

The Second dropdown enabled the purchase as a €0 purchase

Likely never play it anyway but it's the principle. 😀

Got it last night and thought I might download it for a couple of goes. 149GB… feck that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,885 ✭✭✭Doodah7

The same. Not enough space on either the harddrive or M2 storage to fit it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Haha, losers, only 40GB on ps4…😢

That's huge. I was going to buy it for my Switch 2 last week for €70, glad I didn't now

I have this on the Switch 2 and it's wonderful, so I got the Steam version just 3 hours ago and now it's been added to PS+, all of a sudden I've 3 versions of the game!

Good excuse to make very different choices and builds!

If ye in any way enjoy CP2077 after a few hours, get the Phantom Liberty DLC. It’s integrated into the main game (accessible once you reach a certain point in the story) and it's absolutely fantastic. Both the game and DLC were already worth every penny. With the base game for free, the DLC should be a no-brainer!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,350 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

The DLC is now discounted for Plus members. 20.99.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,749 ✭✭✭Corvo

Anyone who hasn't played it yet is going to come across one of the greatest ever. Its a gem, especially alongside the DLC and further updates.

Counterpoint: I played it at release and it was a massively underbaked open world, poor RPG, shallow immersive sim and a so-so story (though with some interesting, well-drawn supporting characters).

No doubt it has improved through patches and I might finally give the DLC a go soon as that has a much better rep. No question it’s more of an RPG now at least. But it’s a long, long way from one of the greatest games ever IMO - the patches could only do so much as there’s a weak foundation, especially when it comes to the surprisingly superficial, dull open world, that only a full sequel could fix.

I did thoroughly enjoy it once it was released in a proper state. But the story wasn't the best, Keanu Reeves can't act and annoyed me, and it's quite depressing in general. Looks and plays great now, and I do intend to get Phantom Liberty at some point… I had finished with Fem V but I somehow overwrote that! Male V getting a go now, but it's still a bit too soon since I finished it to want to play through it fully again.

I've about 20 hours out into Sandland. Its not bad. Its on the edge of good, but doesnt quite get there, but is interesting enough to keep me going for now. Its not as Disney as Kingdom Hearts, but it does try. Really only sticking with it because of nothing else to play. Pretty simple stuff too so think I'm just going through the motions.

Lies of P is a great get, especially for anyone who likes the idea of Soulslikes but have been put off by difficulty. Lies of P introduced new options to reduce difficulty, so you could try it out, then drop the difficulty if you're really struggling. It's also as close to the quality of Fromsoft games as you'll get without it being a Fromsoft game.

Happy with Life's of Pi. Fancied trying it for a while but the soulslike tag put me off. Now I can try risk free!

Day Z is a game i wanted to love but it's too hard core for me, give me og demon's souls level 1 no hit run over that any day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,696 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

I'll give Lies of P a go, but even with the difficulty options I probably won't like it. Have to resign myself to never liking Soulslikes, but it also has the potential to show that difficulty options in Soulslikes is beneficial. We shall see. Might give My Hero a go but not expecting to enjoy it. And I played DayZ in 2013, mad to think it's still going. No interest in it tbh, designed for squad play even though you can allegedly solo it. Meh month for me.

Main things to remember with any Souls game are; every enemy (no matter how basic-b*tch grunt-level enemy they are) can and will kill you, and you will be punished for every mistake (including just running blindly into rooms or alleyways, as there could be enemies around every corner, or trying to go nuts on an enemy and running out of stamina).

You're not Kratos or Dante, able to withstand multiple hits from enemies and barely flinch or just lose maybe 25% of your health. You have to treat every encounter with care and with a sensible approach, or you will die (well, you will die a lot anyway, but you'll die more if you're just blasting in).

And thats why I hate it. Its too much work and frustration, reminds me of real life. Becoming the God and kicking ass is what I prefer. Its entertaining to be something I'm not. Soulslikes remind me that no matter how hard you work to get past something, theres always something else to negate that hard work. I run out of patience, so hopefully P will allow me to make it more forgiving of impatience. If not, Soulslikes will join bullet hells, turn based and narrative only games as "not for me".

As a side note, Give me God of War turns out enemies into 1 hit kill machines.

I think there are pros and cons to both approaches. I love the GoW & DMC games just as much as the next guy (well, I probably love the DMC games more than the next guy, because that next guy is an idiot who doesn't appreciate them like I do), but Souls games would suck with GoW/DMC-type combat, and vice versa.

Those action games give you a lot of actions/moves for combat, but really it's about style and power fantasy. If you get hit a few times, ah don't worry about it, probably only 20-40% of your regen health anyway. And you rarely die in the games unless you're really mashing and not paying attention. I replayed DMC3, 4 & 5 recently, and probably died less than 5 times between all three games, and likely 3 of those times were just during Vergil boss fights.

Souls games, you have a very limited moveset or set of abilities, because it's all on you. It's about being patient, moving with intent, reading/learning enemies, and taking the chances when they're there. You'll die after a few hits, but you'll have probably learned something about the enemy. And gradually things get easier and you can identify traps/ambushes/movesets. There's an element of reward to that, because if you survive encounters or defeat bosses, it's because you put the real effort in and got better, rather than just busting out super-moves.

Action games are generally more fun and relaxing. Souls games require that additional level of patience, focus and intent.

Lies of P, even on its easiest level, may still require that patience and focus (haven't played on any of the easier difficulties but enemy design and movesets are likely the same). You'll still be punished for making mistakes (but will likely just have scope to make more of them in each try), you won't be running into rooms and wrecking everything that moves, and you'll still have to take care to identify traps & ambushes. You do have some pretty cool weapons with special abilities, but you still won't be Kratos or Dante.

Absolutely worth trying it out, but it is a Souls game.

Just to stir the pot, I really dont get DmC either. Tried to get into them, but the dialogue is so cringe that I can't. Up there with Kingdom Hearts for the cringing. While I dont need a fantastic story to get me through a game, I can do without the constant deliberate cringe. They're like B-Movies, which i was never a fan of due to aforementioned cringe! Cringe. Funny word that.

But yeah, I'm not expecting P to change my mind about things, more interested to see if the difficulty options make it... more enjoyable for people like me. I may end up saying no anyway, even if its easier, as you mentioned the entire games are built upon this slow/die/repeat circle, so making it easier may remove something from them.

Also, I dont quite believe you that its all on the player and their skills, because I too have seen the videos where someone chugs 15 potions and stabs themselves 4 times before waltzing in, glowing loads of different colours with sprites spiriting away from the character and weapon, only to 1 shot an alleged bastard boss. But again its great we (the players) have choices. I'll always prefer the faster, action orientated games, I just find them much more enjoyable, and spending hours learning a moveset and eventually beating a boss after 20+ attempts doesnt leave me with a feeling of accomplishment, I'm just delighted to not have to try any more. And knowing that thats how the rest of these games go, its an immediate turn off. I dont want walk in the park easy, but I like to enjoy my gaming. Its why I dont play CoD online anymore! Unfortunately, modern requirements and time to make new games is so long/expensive that we're not getting a constant onslaught of mediocre games to fill the gaps between the good ones.

There's often an element of player skill to that too, in that they've focused their build around collecting the items/weapons to allow them to do that, the armour which can buff those things, the spells etc. That's pretty much never a "first time playing the game" type of thing, and is more people showing off or doing that for fun. Activating that level of cheese requires advance knowledge of which items stack on each other in that way, which order to apply buffs etc.

The same happens in the likes of GoW; I've seen clips of people defeating the Valkyrie or Beserker King in one hit by activating buffs and abilities while the enemy is spawning in, but again, that's not something people tend to do their first time playing.

But hey, if that is how people want to play first-time and they look up how to become that sort of walking tank or power character, that's just a roundabout version of dropping the difficulty of the game to make it easier (where those games don't have difficulty options).

Those videos of insane OP builts in Souls games are actually often very hard to put together, as they need extremely specific builds and detailed knowledge of the game systems. It's a lot of work to get to the point where it can look so effortless. They're also often very reliant on luck and avoiding specific attacks.

I did a big respec to do big damage to the infamously nasty final boss in Shadow of the Erdtree and even then it still took many attempts to refine and survive the fight - still needed to know the boss close to inside out to survive the onslaught long enough to get the critical attacks in.

Anyway, IMO you're really missing out if you avoid character action games like Bayonetta or DMC because they're 'cringe'. They're totally OTT on purpose, and the cutscenes etc… are totally skippable if it's that much of a pain point. It's the expressiveness, fluidity and depth of the combat that really makes those games sing, at least in their best incarnations like DMC3 or Bayonetta 1 /2.
