A favourite term of Fr Ted co-creator turned obsessive headbanger, Graham Linehan.

Well, I'd make an exception for those being trivially annoyed by someone sauntering alone in public acting as if every other human on the planet is an NPC.

Or if you're playing a computer game :)

    But otherwise I get you.

Joe Brolly - a poor mans Eamon Dunphy

Joe Brolly is an incredibly boring man. He still has a massive chip on his shoulder about being dropped from the RTE football panel, but the truth of the matter is that he was just very boring, obvious, and painful to listen to.

Fintan O'Toole is right f**ker & has an apt second name. The standard of journalism and media is sh*te in this country. Alot of them are lapdogs to the establishment and policitical class. They do what they're told. Ali Bracken & Tanya Sweeney get special mentions too.

That young Jamie guy from joe rogan podcast, he is just a total walkover, joe can say what he wants to him and he takes it like a bitch, pathetic from a grown man. Once joe pulled him up on talking over him and he nearly started crying.

Joe is obviously a total sell out as well, I have never seen anyone change as much as he did.

AOC. She is the modern day equivalent of Bounderby from the Dickens novel Hard Times. He spent the whole book blowing about how he lived in terrible poverty as a child and dragged himself up from the gutter to become a self-made man.

Then at the end he is outed as a bullshitter and it turns out he actually had a very comfortable upbringing.

Soon to be ex-politician I would say. She is being ripped to shreds by her former followers over her 500 million for the Iron Dome vote.

I remember reading a glowing review of her in the Irish Independent where commentators in American were saying "she's a star", "she's hot" as if she were someone in the process of transitioning from a career on the Disney Channel/Nickelodeon into a fully fledged movie star career.

Describing someone in politics as "a star" is exactly why the world is in such a state, instead of qualities that are sought for in politicians of boring competence and people who just get things done political parties and the media who follow them desperately want the world of politics to be another version of covering hollywood.

Political Star is just a figure of speech. It is not connected with being a move star or any other sort of star. A Google search will show the description being applied to politicians from lots of different countries for decades. It has not led to the world being in such a state.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,711 ✭✭✭Jack Daw

Yes but tied in with focusing on her looks and how "hot" she is would suggest that in her case it is tied in with a form of celebrity adulation, her whole backstory was a load of hollywoodesque nonsense, when we were led to believe she was some underprivileged kid from the Bronx when in reality she had a very comfortable boring suburban upbringing.

and the truth is over the decades politics has been trivialized and celebrified (if that is a word) by the media and all the people who support political parties like they are sports teams.

Those two absolute pieces of scum Andrew and Tristan Tate. Never in my life have I seen sh*t piled as high as those two are.

I mentioned this one previously but they’re grating on me again - the Rugby elites who are trying to make a thing out of the Lions winning the tour as if it’s some huge sporting achievement. Tossers!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,438 ✭✭✭Danye

    They’re not hats.

They’re bowls full of treats that he sneakily nibbles on when hungry.

It's an all star selection of 4 countries teams (with a few of those players not being from those 4 countries) and they managed to narrowly beat Australia who are at a real low ebb and a country where rugby union is the second most popular rugby code by a mile.

Yet the rugby media generally try to convince everyone winning the series is a mammoth achievement and that everyone involved is a lions legend and being a Lions legend is a different level of greatness than just being one for your country.

It's all so transparently bullshit to anyone with half a brain.

You'll rarely hear anybody involved in rugby say a word against it though because it's a big jolly up every 4 years for all the journalists and it's a merchandising racket aswell but it has zero sporting merit anymore.

Does seem like there's is a lot more indifference to it now in the wider sporting context as if most people who aren't hardcore Lions fans have now worked out how meaningless it is.I just got the feeling there wasn't anywhere near as much hype about it this year than there used to be, but maybe that's because I've been deliberately avoiding any mention of it.
