A few years ago, I tried a bit of mob grazing, with ewes. One patch of ground had ferns bad enough, they trampled most of em down - the ferns got a knock from it in that they weren't as bad the year after. Now, I had em squeezed up tight enough and moved em quick after they trampled

I have a heap of em in a few fields as well - have topped em a few times now this year, but it doesnt seem to do much to em.

They are a curse though. Assolux was the only spray I seen to do any good on em, but that's banned now. The only positive thing I can say about em is they dont seem to grow on bad/wet ground…

I’ve been told eagle with a sticker is the only option . I’ve tried a lot of places the last few weeks hoping to find a bottle of asulox with no results.

If it's thick, roundup. If not asulox if it can still be got, but I don't think it's as good as it once was tbh.

Rolling is better than cutting. The bruising from rolling forces the plant to use more resources to fix itself than a cut.

I know lads with cattle that have cleared patches of it with cattle tramping, and I know more lads that have cattle and bracken.

Depends what you want here, eradication then I think spraying, control then go rolling/bruising.

Creeping thistle maybe, not sure.

It has gone wild here. Cleaned some ditches this spring and put up new fencing. Last grazing, after not being in that field for two weeks maybe, I couldn't see half the posts.

Rolling works. Had taken over a big headland and I made it a point to drive over it when mowing and baling and it didn't come back. Roundup seems to takes ages. Half the plant will be brown and rest green.

No point pulling a new gate. It would be in a hoop in mins.....don't make them like they used to....
