My first and last questions were comprehension ones. Sweden… that was about aging population, or something. In addition to the ones you mention, one was on types of fuel being used and movement between them.

    'twixt 150-200.. Won't hold my breath :D
Best not give exact number in case I've ever said anything offensive on here and they're super diligent…

Is the next stage just based on the number or your number in conjunction with your application form?

God I wish it was just oom but its not

I am way down the bottom of the order of merit, but I will try again next time, I will have a better idea of what I am doing next time.

I did very poorly, I made the OOM but at 1480, I am even suprised that many people did it, let alone that they bother to rank that.

Looking back on the 2022 thread (https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058233607/principal-officer-competition-2022/p4) would suggest that the top 234 were called to the next stage but no indication on how many they'll call this time is there?

My understanding is that they shortlist the candidates who meet the qualifying standard. You'd imagine they will start with the top third. So it's based on number and application?

Well if you're not confident, I'm definitely not. My OOM is almost double that.

Thats because people fire in any old **** on the application form and then do surprisingly well in the tests.

A high place on the OoM is no guarantee of being called. Id imagine that the top 350-400 are still in with a shout yet

Raging they don't publish the answer sheet afterwards

Passed. Disappointed with JS. Very happy with CA.

Made the OOM but at 407, going on the comments here, I think I may be out of luck again! 🙈😩

    I came 816th… have I any hope ? I have buckets of private sector experience .. 😭

Would love to know the scores relative to OOM - qualifying score of in and around 1000 and OOM still over 1100!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,354 ✭✭✭MrMusician18

Id say it's unlikely. That said if PAS go hard on eliminating candidates that have put AI slop in their submissions, then the position in which they cut off could end up being quite high.

Won’t all those who passed go through shortlisting and the next OOM is the one that counts towards interview.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 APapplicant2021

I don't want to give my exact ranking but I'm high on the OOM, well below 100. Shook tbh! My total score was upwards of 1300. There's another ranking now based on the application forms isn't there?

For those who may not know. You oom will only count if you get through the next stage. What's happened before is they now look at your application and if that is not to their liking, your out then without interview.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,354 ✭✭✭MrMusician18

Is that right? I thought the OoM only counted for the order in which they will review the written applications. If you were OoM No. 1 but submitted a terrible application that didn't meet the standard then you are out.

Wonder if there is any demand in the "Irish" stream?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 jc123456

Hey guys, I'm an external applicant. I was ranked 35 after Stage 1. Does that mean I would get an interview? I'm from outside the civil service so have never gone through this process

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 107 ✭✭the_freaky_one

I would imagine that you'll be one of the first people to have their form reviewed for shortlisting ranked in top 50, but you will only get to interview stage if your form is at the level of experience they are looking for and they shortlist you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 128 ✭✭2021_AP

Also in that 150 to 200 bracket, surprised but happy. Hopefully will make it through stage 2 whenever called

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 jc123456

Thanks, that makes sense. I should have the level of experience they are looking for but let's see. Is the expectation that interviews would be in early September?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 9,056 ✭✭✭Ficheall

And at what point in the process would that be factored in?

    Of course there is hope.

Of the 1800+ candidates that have passed, how many may not have the experience and good application form to get short listed? How many when called for the interview, don't perform on the day? How many have already got a new job since this process started and wont proceed?
