The reasons why the Palestinians ignored the UN has been pointed out to you repeatedly, yet here you are again parroting the same BS, so either you are really, really thick or just being an asshole.

For anyone who needs refreshing. The Arabs wanted the UN to follow their own charter on the right to self-determination for Mandatory Palestine, but the UN would not do so and the Arabs refused to engage with the UN as a result. The question should not be why the Arabs chose to ignore the UN, but why the UN ignored their own charter in refusing the people of Palestine the right of self-determination?

Likewise, the question should be asked as to why the British and other Western nations backed the Zionist project when 85% of the population of mandatory Palestine were opposed to it? Do people here actually believe in democracy and self-determination?

Or why did Britain/ France not engage with the people of the ME to ascertain what their vision was for the future of the region after WW1?

Or why was the only report that did engage with the local population suppressed and ignored?

As I said before, all the UN plan did was compound the stupidity of decisions made post WW1 and brought about the exact results that the report from 30 years previously predicted, and warned against.

If the blame for the whole situation is to be put anywhere, let's not put it on the people who were ignored time after time and instead look at the Western nations who saw the Arabs as irrelevant in their own lands. Even to this day, western powers could solve this crisis, the US alone could solve the whole situation in a heartbeat, but they are so far up Israels ass, they have no interest in doing so and everyone else acts as lapdog to the US.

No comparison to Japan in August 1945 whatsoever. The US offered to allow the Emperor to remain head of state and to return to peace relatively quickly - no suggestion of permanent occupation.

Danzy would not go into any pub in the country and utter a work in support of Israel, he should do if only to take them off the front pages with their genocide

The future of Israel is very bleak. It will be ostracised for many many years. Imagine having this to your name -

I am still laughing at the stupidity of comparing a country who had tried to enslave a huge swathe of Asia, killing between 5-10million people with a terrorist organisation like Hamas. Its like those posters who think Germany losing territory post WW2 is the same as the Palestinians being kicked of their land to create Israel. Unsurprisingly they are from the same group of posters.

This is brilliant. 1,600 Israeli tourists on cruiseliner sent packing from Syros, Greece by protestors.

Christ it must be absolutely exhausting being this ignorant...

Better tell these Israelis... they seem to be under the impression their government are starving people...

It's just the usual liars and spoofers trying to derail the thread with historical talking points that they know nothing about.

Every time it's tried it looks more and more desperate.

Apologies for linking of so many articles, but the situation is just abominable.

Also, **** everyone in this thread whining about 'HAMAS' - they are dead and buried. Gaza is a hell hole death trap, and the Israelis are genocidal monsters.

These maniacs are now planning to create the world largest concentration camp, and 'initially' force 600,000+ people into it, 'who would not be allowed leave'. The 'plan' is to eventually force the entire Gazan population into the concentration camp.

Where is it? on the ruins of Rafah of course.

This is the precursor to “the emigration plan, which will happen” says sociopathic Katz.

It's yet another irony that Israel is planning to set up concentration camps in Gaza. Israel will be author of its own demise which can't come soon enough. Anybody with a conscience and heart will cry for the people of Gaza. That this can happen in 2025 is an absolute disgrace and speaks to the power of the Jewish lobby in America.

Even when Israel is dissolved as a nation Jews around the world deserved to be treated with disdain for many decades for supporting a genocide committed against a defenceless starving population. To those Jews who have spoken out against the genocide you have my respect. Sadly they are much in the minority. Israel's society is sick.

The 'auld anti-Semitic accusation chestnut. Been a long time since anyone pulled that stupid card. Seems some haven't learned that criticism of Israel isn't antisemitic.

You won't get a coherent response - just another bunch of lies, obfuscation and distraction.

This is the only rubbish that is now posted by those supportive of Israeli atrocities.

The smart ones ran away to avoid the embarrassment of being called out with facts.

It's hard to believe some people are so incredibly stupid to swallow the Israeli Hasbara. That they actually come and post it - scarlet for ye…

The Daily Express has a full page photo of a starving child on its front page tomorrow. You would imagine it's all over for the terrorist state at this point if they have lost even the UK right wing press.

Another excellent report from Jeremy Bowen - BBC, especial the political angle of why Netanyahu does not want the hostages released in one go.

It's simple - the war would end and the right winger ministers would collapse the govt. Netanyahu would have to attend court on corruption charges and an enquiry would almost certainly follow as to why there Netanyahu made such a monumental error about Oct 7th.

Also, it's hard not to deduce that Israel is a World Pariah in the minds of the public but also now, many of its allies. They know the rubicon has been crossed and they do not want to be tarred with the same brush.

"Israel is running out of friends. Allies who rallied around after the 7 October Hamas attacks have lost patience with Israel's conduct in Gaza.

Even Israel's most important ally, Donald Trump, is reported to be losing patience with Netanyahu after being taken by surprise when the Israeli leader ordered the bombing of Damascus – attacking Syria's new regime, which Trump has recognised and encouraged.

Other western allies of Israel ran out of patience months ago."

Israel will not recover from this.

They are being called out be everyone now.

All that's left is for the two alleged Israeli war criminals to be hauled before the ICC and left to rot in jail or for Israel to be found to have committed Genocide by the ICJ.

That would be justice served and the Israeli Govt. and the IDF to be exposed before the whole world for the terrorists and war criminals they are.

The 9th circle of Hell awaits the traitors.

I suspect this is all going to blow up in the next week or two. Genocide of children by enforced starvation is probably something we've never seen on our TV screens or social media before. This is like watching Belsen 1945 playing out right now in front of us. Daily Express editors are probably among the first to realise where this absolute horror show is heading.

    Lol, that's the spirit.

It's time for Israel to take the gloves off, sometimes too much consideration can be viewed as weakness.

As always only the Gazans can end this and until they decide that war and violence is not an obligation, they can enjoy themselves.

    Warning this video is heartbreaking.

Also anyone who goes on about whatabout Hamas this is what they are trying to defend.

Really. You keep repeating this but tbh it makes absolutely no sense.

    Why can't Israelis end it?

    Wikipedia:

On 3 March 2010, Martin Plaut of the BBC published evidence that millions of dollars worth of aid to the Ethiopian famine were spent in buying weapons by the Tigrayan People's Liberation Front, a communist group trying to overthrow the Ethiopian communist government at the time. Rebel soldiers said they posed as merchants as "a trick for the NGOs". The report also cited a CIA document saying aid was "almost certainly being diverted for military purposes". One rebel leader estimated $95 million (£63 million).[51] Plaut also said that other NGOs were under the influence or control of the Derg military junta. Some journalists suggested that the Derg was able to use Live Aid and Oxfam money to fund its enforced resettlement and "villagization" programs, under which at least 3 million people are said to have been displaced and between 50,000 and 100,000 killed.

Overall 300k-1M+ are estimated to have starved in this famine. Militaries putting themselves before civilians. I'm not sure what the TV coverage was like of this in the 80's however.
