I’ve seen reports that Felix Baumgartner died today in a paragliding accident

Confirmed by ORF, the Austrian state broadcaster:

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Ah that’s very sad. His jump from the edge of space was awe-inspiring and so memorable. RIP…

Cardiac arrest at 56. Fit and active and seemingly healthy otherwise. Life is short. At least he lived it to the max. RIP.

Saw that . I watched the space jump repeatedly- Some of the views were incredible . I had also seen/read about some of his base jumps . It seems to be more heart attack than an incident paragliding

RIP but lived a daredevil life and survived it

RIP. Joe (Kittinger) died only a few years ago. Getting out of a supersonic flat spin during that space dive was something very few others could have done. Felix appeared to be one of the more considered daredevils. Not so much death-wish but more of a Niki Lauda where he evaluated and tried to minimise risk.
