are the KOL not back on the road this weekend when they have 3 gigs supporting Zack Bryan in New Jersey, so if this is correct, they maybe waiting on a Sam Fender update

Until they’re actually back on the road, they’re still a risk.

and even then. One dodgy walk and he will be gone again

dont know a song by Samuel Fender so him out and Biffy Clyro in would be my ideal change based on who is around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,040 ✭✭✭✭Basq

The Biff would be superb.. they're not touring a whole lot at moment as new album out later this year though.

just saw them on a few festivals like Glastonbury and Transmit so thought might be available - also seem to be doing one in august in Europe though i'd guess if were booked would have been one of the announced acts already

Fender seems to really grind gears (unnecessarily imo) but the Biff are abysmal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,040 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Fender makes music for bed-wetters.

Biffy absolutely always put on a great show, would be a great addition to any festival

Biff a curate's egg of a band to me. Anyhoo.

Has anyone stayed in the Silver Campsite?

The boss and I panicked when BYEco pulled out and bought a plot in Silver.

We have a booking for Melvin's Eco site, too, but we're wondering if the Silver will be a better option for a couple staring 40 in the face.

Apart from not being in Beirut, what facilities does Silver have to make the 250 quid worth it.

We'll flog the Silver for beer money (about 2 pints each) and stay in Eco if it's very basic.

yes, two year ago, will type more later. On way out to sparks.

Yes, we've stayed there the last two years and thought it was worth it. We used to stay in Eco but we're put off when it was very crowded one year and didn't have any toilets etc.

There is plenty of room in Silver and the toilets and showers are good and make a big difference.

I'd get them to spring for full luxury boutique camping and call it an untaxable annual bonus!

The boss in this instance is my wife and we have a joint account….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 405 ✭✭Davysulls86

That sounds promising, and probably sways it for me.

We missed 5 years of eco between pregnancies and covid, so missed the year it was busy, but heard it was quite bad.

The loo watt toilets were the best thing they ever had.

The loo watt toilets were very good and really missed the year they weren't there.

We stayed in Eco maybe 4 times and used to like it but had noticed it wasn't as good as it used to be so went for Silver and think it's worth it.

Stayed in Silver last year. Mix of Teepees and peoples own tents in pre-marked plots. Lovely crowd there and no hassle. Two different sets of toilets. One set were nicer and had a door that was more sealed. The showers were cleaned constantly as were the toilets. No huge queues. Bit of a queue in the morning for the showers but not a long wait. Marquee tent for charging phones and marquee tent with hair straighteners and hair dryers. Decent security so not really people sneaking in. And two vans doing food, tea and coffee and breakfast baps (which were delicious).

    1. Premarked pitch so no Mogadishu type camping
    2. Quality shitters
    3. Quality showers
    4. Security
    5. The first year, there was a coffee vendor in the site, pricey as **** but handy, I’d imagine it’s the same again, possibly improved offerings

Just used it the first year they offered it, they announced much later last year and already had my tent location sorted at that point.

    oh, and sparks absolutely slapped

cannot remember off top of head but it's pink moon so spenny

edit: They've some neck the cheeky fuckers, they have bumped up the pricing on the original base offer which was a 4x7 with up to 4 people to near 300 and subbed in at a fiver more than it's original price a smaller 4x3 plot for just 2 people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 811 ✭✭✭thebronze14

I just don't see the value in the glamping or any of that for the price you pay as if you don't like camping you are still camping but each to their own!

It's not about not liking camping

    1. lots of people don't have their own tents and just want to rock up, dump their muck and not worry about setting it up, taking it down and any clean up, it's like a hotel service for most except it's a tent.
    2. Depending on your age, you may look at general camping and correctly assume that it's been setup by a bunch of brain dead feral teenage morlocks given the state of it. Lots of us have zero interest in camping in those sites.
    3. On demand clean shitters and showers, these are very very nice to have.
    4. Security aspect, again it's very nice to have and they are much quieter sites at night.
    5. The pink moon sites have areas you can get coffee and have a sit down in (weather protected) and not be fighting for space which is quite nice compared to the rampaging hordes elsewhere.

Eco with its ticket only access this year looks to be verging into the realms of what's offered in the pinkmoon silver site but we'll see how that plays out in its new location and new management.

I’m not banking too much on ECO this year, the people running it, attitude, security, size and location (Apart from rave) made it special.

As it’s ticketed I assume it will be entry with wristband only, but disaster if not.

It looks like a similar size vs the old site, but I’d say the approach will be different, previously they would have turned ppl away when nearing full, this year it could just be a free for all.

ECO list was based off previous years email/attendance, there was some consistency year on year. This year it was first come first served, that might seem pretentious, but there are plenty of individuals that don’t understand the ‘don’t sh1t where you sleep’ bit.

The location is a killer, old camper-van field and beyond! it’s an extra couple of Km every time. Mates who use to take the camper van would setup a small cheap €10 pop up tent in Hendrix to store jackets and misc items, due to the distance!

I’ve used other TM accounts to also get glitterball, will try to suss out, but it’s huge, bigger than Hendrix, but location is A1!! Right bang in the middle of car to MainStage.

yeah, I'm worried that silver will be closer to the rave at night than it was 2 years ago, zero bloody sleep that year

Don't **** where you sleep is the 2nd most important rule after don't pork the payroll.
