Was there anyone from batch 3 second round of interviews this week (think OOM was up to about 70)

Just wondering whether to expect the bad news this week or next

I emailed them the other day and they told me they’ll be out within 10 working days of the last interview which was the 4th. So probably looking at sometime next week if they don’t come in today

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next week to find out the results.
Ah well, let's enjoy the sunny weekend at last!

Sorry to ramble but I’m starting on my report and I’ve hit a wall.. I know I want to get it done but I’ve started thinking of the interview and I’ve just become so overwhelmed! Has this happened to anyone?

I’m waiting to see but I absolutely flopped it. It was a great experience that will stand to me but I just want to be put out of my misery at this stage 🥲

Put the interview out of your head - plenty of time for that

Have you ever done any kind of project management before?

Take your subject and break it down in to bullet points (around 10 for part 1 and part 2) - things you think could be included like the problem, why it needs fixing, how can it be fixed, who does it help, how will it be implemented, how would you be involved, whats the future benefit, how does the 2030 plan relate to your bullet points, what are the risks - but tailor it to your proposal.

You're just looking to put one or two short sentences for each bullet point. Something like "I need to talk about how this aligns with Digital First by removing paper records"

Then you can flesh out each bullet point separately, don't even need to do it in order. Before you know it you'll have two pages

thanks so much - that’s given me a bit of direction.. the very best of luck to you with your results 👍

Results are out, missed out on one area by a few points, passed the one I thought I'd fail - till the next time, best of luck everyone else

I’m sorry to hear that - you’ve been an absolute positive beacon of light over the last few months to those of us who are waiting in the wings for our interviews 👍

@fritzelly sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can pick up those pts for the next battle.

Thanks, I emailed last week and they told me there was one ahead of me on the panel. They sent an email after I passed the interview asking what parts of Limerick are you happ to take, I only picked Limerick City so I don't know if that affects how many are ahead or not though.

I was successful for Galway batch 3, delighted, does anyone know if batch 2 for Galway has finished?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 kisskiss123

To anyone who has been tagged, were you lucky enough to stay put or did you find you were placed somewhere else?

I'm really sorry to hear that. We were on the same EO panel a few years ago ( I'm Cork ) so I felt sure you'd get HEO too. I've been shortlisted for interview for Cork but it's so slow moving, I doubt they'll reach me by end of the panel in November. Hopefully they'll run another comp in 2026, that's whats keeping me going, we can learn from this one.

    Keep going strong @fritzelly

Thanks blondie - all experience for the next time

Managed to pass for Batch 3.1 in Limerick. We'll see if there's any movement on the panel.

Sorry to those who didn't make it past this round. And best of luck in the 2026 comp 🤞

Sorry to hear that @fritzelly, I was rooting for you.

Have to say, I'm not a fan of the new capability framework - I just felt like it wasn't possible to really get down into examples with all the emphasis on values and motivation.

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts"

Thanks - when they started asking me about how I have influenced and implemented policy (or words to that effect) I knew I was a gonner, like what kind of question is that for an EO and that was the capability I missed out on by a few points

@fritzelly I am sorry to hear this, you have been a great support to people on this forum. As someone who works in Policy with an upcoming interview I would struggle also with those questions. Thanks for the advice.
