Even if, IF it were somehow true that there were millions of seemingly oppressed Russian speakers in the Donbas, and I don't grant you that for a single second. That STILL doesn't give Putin an excuse to dismiss international law and invade/annex another country. Unless you wanna tell me now there were millions of oppressed Russians in Kiev needing saving now too?

So even if you're right, you've still another hurdle you ain't crossing.

    1. Currently the bill is under amendment so that Trump can use parts of the bill at his discretion. That is to say he can secondarily tariff whichever entity he pleases. Now that's not to say he'll use it properly, because hes a moron. But hey ho.
    2. See unlike you I actually believe in what I say. I've donated many times to charities for Ukraine in a few different formats. I have great conviction in my beliefs that Putin and his Nuclear armed Mafia regime is the most clear and present danger both to democracy and peace worldwide. A temporary tariff on European/Indian/Chinese goods being sold to America is a small price to pay to watch that genocidal regime implode.

plans underway to be the leading rare earth mineral producer.

I have plans to trap unicorn farts and use them as an alternative fuel for Ireland's gas power plants. Do Russia's plans depend on that legendary US tycoon, Donal Trump?

I see Crimeans are second class Russians now. A Crimean got involved in politics in Moscow. The kremlin took away his rights as a russian citizen and declared him a rank below russian citizen.

So this bs about russian citizens in occupied areas is just that, bs.

You see, these kinda of responses are just ridiculously immature and childish. At least some here in support of Ukraine are able to make good points and put forward logical arguments.

You can't claim a high ground... You are acting as an apologist and have made it clear that you're a frequent visitor of genocidal state.

No high ground to claim. Just stating another point of view

I consider those with this other point of view to be very sick individuals. It's been asked many times how people could cheerlead for the evil b*stard Putin and his scumbag people, alas the only explanation is that they are mentally sick or indeed of the same evil scumbag gene pool as Putin. If its the former I hope they eventually get on the right meds, if it's the latter I hope one day there is a reckoning for them.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2025/0713/1523250-north-korea-russia/

Earlier, Mr Lavrov met with his counterpart Choe Son Hui and thanked the "heroic" North Korean soldiers who have been deployed to aid Russia, TASS said.

So we've gone from there's definitely no North Korean troops involved, no sir! to now they are brave honourary "heros", fighting for Russia.

Pretty much inevitable life cycle of Russian disinfo about something evil and/or reckless they have done but prefer to obfuscate for a time (in this case dragging in the armed forces of another country on their side, to escalate the war).

Lies and denial to start, and then at the end, just revelling in it - yeah we did that and are proud, so what!

International law died in 1999 Virgil with the illegal attack on Serbia by Nato, then the illegal annexation of Kosovo without a referendum and subsequent recognition of Kosovo as a state by multiple nations in 2008. Very difficult to call out the exact same thing now with such vigor without looking like total hypocrites 25 years later.

It was always going to come back and bite certain countries on the **** because the precedent was set. Never mind the illegal attack on Libya again breaking international law, the illegal invasion of Iraq based on lies presented to the UN security council as WMD's resulting in the death of millions in the region and chaos enduring to this day.

Hell, even attacking nuclear facilities is fair game now going by recent events. The lack of condemnation is telling from certain countries and organizations who also seem to be very quiet about putting bone crushing sanctions on the madman from Tel Aviv.

Your entire post can be boiled down to "whatabout Iraq/Israel/NATO" and "Two wrongs make a right".

    They don't by the way.

You don't have a leg to stand on.

Yes. Well to be strictly accurate

Nato and the US have a lot to answer for, quite amazing how the Europeans went along with it despite all the warnings given for 30 years. Now they watch on and scream for peace and a ceasefire despite turning down a simple solution before it started.

Not sure how to share telegram here but video shows unease with SMO being spoken about freely

Terrorist and former "people's governor of Donbas" Pavel Gubarev stated that it would have been better not to launch the "special military operation" at all.

That's not in any way a reply to what I wrote. I could start dropping 10 minute long poorly edited videos for you to consume in reply to everything you write. Would you like that? Or maybe you should try not being so lazy and make your own arguments?

So have you dropped the mocking tone around kids being stolen from Ukraine? That is to say Putin and Lvova-Belova discussing on stage how they're lifting children from the occupied areas and relocating them to Russia proper.

Textbook genocide on display and admitted to in video by the regime itself. And you here still whatabouting on and on about how we weren't nice enough to the Russians to stop them from invading? Your brain has been melted by Kremlin propaganda you just don't see it.

Still peddling the lie about Istanbul on the thread, after it being discredited about half a dozen times already.

You know how this goes. You make a false claim about Istanbul being just about neutrality.

    You can't back it up.

You know you can't back it up because the evidence proves that there was no agreement at Istanbul on key issues such as territory, sovereignty, size of armed forces etc.

It is a claim that gets more dishonest each time, given that you're already tried to make this argument, been unable to support it, and having the actual evidence presented to you multiple times.

But then we should probably expect such tactics as this when someone going to bat for a regime that deals in lies, that deals in war crimes, atrocity and rape. The only way to 'defend' the Russian position is with lies and whataboutery. Standard Russian operating procedure.

Here's you repeating a version of the same lie in December last on the thread, and having it completely discredited.

Given the scutter you post, you have a lot to answer for. I honestly don't understand a single argument that you try to make and I'm guessing you don't either. I find it amazing that someone can be so consistently wrong on every topic. You couldn't even programme an AI to be that bad.

Believe what you want, but if you are going to continuously shill garbage here, can you at least do the decent thing and pay for membership so that the site can survive? Otherwise kindly sod off and leave the rest of us be. We aren't going to subscribe to your drivel, no matter how many random twitter links you post.

Also attacking Serbia wasn't wrong. Best thing NATO has ever done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,085 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

The posters morally bankrupt position is that it was wrong for NATO to stop Serbians slaughtering in Kosovo.

But ok for Russia to do exactly that in Chechnya.

@brickster69 runs away from this point everytime because they and Russian propaganda scripts have no answer for it.

By Russian standards Ukraine could have slaughtered every last Russian sympathizer in Ukraine.

After all thats what Russia did in Chechnya and not once has brickster69 criticised such atrocities.

Why, because a NAFO account draws a couple of arrows on an Institute of war map. Sounds a bit like that encirclement in Sumy doesn't it ?

And there is a strong possibility that the 2nd Chechen War was contrived by Putin himself with his false flag bombings in Ryazan.

It's hard to tell given the way Vatniks tend to lurch from waffle to whataboutism so quickly and back again. But in my case I was referring to the US invasion of Iraq. Which I don't support. I'm not really familiar with the Serbia/Kosovo situation so I don't argue along those lines.

But posters like @brickster69 don't tend to argue in terms of nuance. They have a worldview that places EU/West/NATO in the bad camp. And therefore every crackpot regime or terrorist outfit that opposes them must be in some way good or excused for their bad actions. And you end up with them twisting themselves into nonsensical logical pretzels when say…. the current US administration attempt to bully Ukraine into a peace settlement. And then Russia rejects it. Or a shithole dictatorship like Iran attacks Israel. It must be awfully confusing for them.

It's much easier to take things on a case by case basis in order to be logically consistent.

    • Against the current US Administration, somewhat supportive or ambivalent towards the last
    • Against the US invasion of Iraq
    • For the people of Israel's ability to defend themselves but against the current Israeli governments actions
    • For the freedom of Palestine but against Hamas/ strongly against their backers Iran.
    • Strongly against Russia and for Ukraine.

None of these things together or individually are problematic for me to explain.

It's possible for there to be no good guys in a conflict. But what we have in Ukraine is not that. It's as close to good guys vs bad guys as we're ever gonna see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,621 ✭✭✭Virgil°

The absolute irony. You're CONSTANTLY posting map updates of supposed "encirclements" and reports of settlements "about to fall" even when those reports come straight from the f*cking Kremlin.

You've absolutely lost the run of yourself mate.
