It's a tourist trap, you should be allowed speed when you're on holidays without any consequences. I don't think you should pay it. They won't come looking for you in Ireland anyway.

Oh don't get me wrong, caught 84km in 80km zone technically is breaking the law but a resulting fine is nothing more than money spinner. Yes, Irish reg car in my name, but my passport is in my maiden name so unless I drive that car again in Spain not sure is their any link. Its more the thought, if it was a spainish reg wud they pursue for 4km over or are they hoping the "stupid paddy" will always pay up!!! Oh and also while name and address was right on letter postcode was completely wrong so I just dunno

Easy money for them ? Really ? A pure tourist trap ? If you were speeding then you're guilty. Do you think tourists should be exempt from the speeding rules in Spain ?

Don't forget Spain also has point to point speed checks i.e one camera clocks you at point A the next a few km away at point B. Then they clock your average speed.
