I totally agree insofar as I thought it was set up for Armagh to grind it out as well but even at the time I thought Kerry had played the better stuff in the first half despite being a point down at HT.

There's no doubt Kerry are different when they approach a game feeling like the hunter rather than the hunted. I hope they will use this perception of Ulster superiority to keep that mentality for the semi-final. It will be a very tough All Ireland to win even from this point but looks like we will take a very good performance to beat us as well. I hope if we're beaten we'll have forced a great performance out of whoever does it.

I think you're a good poster by the way FWIW.

Should also be noted Dublin in that match had a similar 10-15 minute spell where they dominated Armagh's kick outs but couldn't  score.  That should have been a warning to Armagh ahead of the Kerry match

The similarities on the kick out stats was striking in those two Armagh games in Croke Park.

Kerry last Sunday won 13 of Armagh kick outs and another two went out over the sideline.  Dublin won 14 of Armagh kick outs a few weeks ago.

The shooting efficiency was very different.Kerry on Sunday 27 scores from 36 shots Dublin v Armagh had 16 scores from 37 shots

Did Armagh go away from that game and think all was fine as they had beaten Dublin while not addressing the issues with the team?  Dublin was just as poor in their shooting against Tyrone at the weekend with 16 scores from 36 shots so probably wise that Tyrone don't fall into the same trap of thinking all is ok after beating Dublin in Croke Park.

Ya. That was it. I was semi-neutral (was kinda siding for Kerry for the D Clifford effect, and also Armagh were current champions). I remember thinking and texting people at half time that it was anyone's game. I thought Kerry were slightly better in the first half. I texted my mother a few mins into the second half that it looked like Armagh were pushing on now and Kerry mightn't be able to keep with them. And then few mins later, I was eating humble pie on that one. So my narrative on it was that Armagh looked good for that 6 or 7 minute spell, but other than that, didn't look convincing.

I'm from Kerry and thought the same.

The teams were fairly even for 40 minutes.

When Armagh went up 5 points though, I thought that was it.

Armagh's performance after that was inexplicable.

I don't understand why Armagh didn't close down SOS properly.

Even his first two pointer early in the first half, there was two Armagh players just watching him.

Everyone knows SOS is good from distance.

I was waiting for Armagh to go up a couple of gears last weekend and it never came. They had alot of messing going on early, like throwing Creely in FF for a couple of minutes and sending in terrible ball.

Both Armagh midfielders had terrible games and I think all the messing early on did them no favours. They looked like a team going through the motions in the first half, not giving it their all but managing to stay in touch. Kerry scores were coming more easily.

2nd half was as much an Armagh collapse as a Kerry masterclass. To concede that manner scores yet not manage to wrestle away some control on your own kickouts just indicates a general level of lethargy and a team playing well below par.

Similar happened in the Galway game over a shorter period. A lack of aggression when the game was on the line. Not something you'd normally associate with Armagh.

Just had a quick look at Ticketmaster, showing 'low availability' for Donegal v Meath on Sunday. With the weather looking good is there a chance it will come close to being a sell out. ?

When do the club returned tickets go on sale?

Mightn't be many. I didn't get one from my club. Annoyingly very few left. Going to wait to see if better ones come up

wheres a good early house for some creamers before the match, I'll be in Dublin around 11.30, somewhere preferably near Croke Park

This could well be a sellout. The last resort front 3 rows are already starting to go on sale. There might be club returns to go up but I don't imagine there will be too many left for Ticketmaster. Outside of that just nally terrace left.

I am not sure why peace surprised that we are looking at a 75kish crowd. The Tailteann cup Fonal is on before the semi final. Kildare us a big football county and will surly bring 20k+. Limerick has a decent football pedigree and will be goid for 15kish. Tyrone supporters will travel when they ate playing Kerry. Kerry had decent support at the QF and most will travel.again.

No idea. Not enough anyway. The first 3 rows of Hogan stand went on sale earlier and went with those

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭thebronze14

They were talking about the other match and you are exaggerating Kildare's crowd by a fair whack and Limerick's astronomically!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,131 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

I'm surprised the Donegal Vs Meath match is pushing a sellout. There's no tailteann final before that one. It's looking more like 80k. Donegal have potential to bring a huge crowd. The semi Vs Cork in 2012 there must have been 40k there in Donegal jerseys.

While Kildare will bring a big crowd Saturday's ticket sales are lagging a good bit behind but still decent.

The Donegal Galway semi final last year had I think 65k, this Meath Donegal one will surely surpass that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,131 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

Club returns went up on ticket master today for Meath Vs Donegal which includes hill 16 tickets I know some people were looking for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,194 ✭✭✭Officer999

Lots of lower Davin tickets went up today for the Kerry Tyrone game. I wonder are they club returns?

Only Nally left for Meath v Donegal. I am in my 30s and I don't think I've ever seen Meath in front of a full house. Maybe Leinster final v Dublin in 2001.

Will be some heat for both semi finals. Surely there will be water breaks in the interest of health and safety.

Hard to predict this evening. Can kerry produce the level of excellence they showed against armagh, where they scored 14 points in a row and 32 overall? Unlikely. Tyrone will have their homework done and will hardly allow Sean ó shea yards of space to kick long range scores.

Tyrone bit hit and miss against dublin. Quality was low with so many mistakes. But tyrone usually raise their game for kerry. Will need more from mccurry and Canavan.

Think kerry have more variety to their game plus the X factor of David Clifford who could go crazy scoring if the breaks go his way and spaces open up. Kerry by 4.

Id go for Kerry as well but not sure they'll reach the heights of the Armagh game, or be allowed to.

Donegal to get through the other game. Could be a fascinating end to end contest. Looking forward to both games.

Anyone with 2 spare for Kerry vs Tyrone or selling 2?

Tyrone going for the treble over Kerry today, u17, U20 and senior be some achievement. I don't think it's a vintage Tyrone team but there is PTSD in the Kerry psyche when it comes to Tyrone in Croke Park. Kerry should have enough to get over the line

but there is PTSD in the Kerry psyche when it comes to Tyrone in Croke Park.

    What PTSD?

In their last four meetings in Croke Park Kerry have won 3 and Tyrone have won 1.

So Kerry should have no PTSD when it comes to meeting Tyrone in Croke Park as the poster I quoted implied.

With the rules changes previous years results, form & playing style have gone out the window.

Meath are the great example this year
