Any ideas of how to pick up a 14 and 15 foot farm gates. Only have a small 6x4 car trailer or a cow box or horse box. No large trailer.

Need to move the gates about 10 miles to rural location so any alternative to getting delivered.

Strapped property on a 6x4 and you will make it work.

The distance is relatively short and try to move at a relatively quiet time on the roads.

I have moved gates that long on a trailer approximately that size it is 6" longer, I have six tie down points on the trailer. I put the gates or timber 12" out over the front of the trailer and tie down with ropes not a strap. The tie points make it easy enough. I tie a high visibility vest to the back.of the gate and have goods lights on the trailer. Ropes are better than a strap for gates as you can wrap it around bars and strain it off itsef

If It's 16' lengths if timber I nail them together as well. I would use straps for timber

I have got a frame made that goes on the front of the trailer it's two uprights and a crosspiece. Have not used it yet for a gate but used it for a couple of sewer pipes. If I have more sewer pipes than that I use the cattle box.

Tractor and trailer is another option but I presume you have e not got that option. Most Co-ops will drop stuff like that
