Will another Connacht team be looking for a new manager

    Typical Connacht 😂

Hooter is weird in that situation. Galway should be allowed take the kick. The ball was out before it went off

No all ireland in that Galway team.

Was it not under 70 minutes going over the line?

Said it on here last July Galway missed their chance. That's it for joyce I'd imagine.

The clock was stopped with 15 secs to go,kicked out of play an hooter blew straight awayl

Galway authors of their own downfall but serious questions about the reffing of that game. Meath run down an entire minute on that free and he just let them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,509 ✭✭✭ratracer

Fair play to Meath. Well deserved and best of luck in the semi’s.
After getting back into the game, Galway threw it away again. Regardless of who’s between the sticks, the kick outs have been dreadful all season, and look, it’s after biting them in ar5e yet again.

Happy to see Meath win - but the way the referee allowed the clock be ran down doesn’t sit well there. Probably 60 of the last 90 seconds was the ball dead with Meath making sure to run the clock down. Surely if there’s any hint of time wasting at the end the clock is stopped and shouldn’t restart until ball is kicked

    Galway are soft.

Great result for Meath, there was always going to be 1 'shock' in the quarters finals and this was always likely to be it.

Galway too much like Dublin this year, played in fits and starts, too inconsistent.

It's only for attacking 45s that you get to play on.

Meath have beaten Dublin Kerry Cork and Galway this year so far. Unbelievable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,800 ✭✭✭cmac2009

Really thought Galway would have won that after equalising. Their kick-outs were woeful, keeper has always been a problematic position for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,303 ✭✭✭✭event

    Fair play to Meath.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,852 ✭✭✭morphy87

Is their an open draw for the semis?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,360 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

    Fair play Meath, deserved.

Galway.... Fully deserved. Enough ball to win 3 games in the first half, Joyce's conservative, cynical style, playing with the handbrake on, and they didn't play until they were 6 down.

I said it in the group games :Galway came behind (luckily enough) by 8 points in earlier games. You can't keep painting yourself into corners like that time and time again and expect to get the breaks to get out of those tight spots, eventually the luck runs out.

Meath were 15 points better than Galway today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,707 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Galway really should have been allowed to take that kick out. Especially after Meath wasted so much time on the last free.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 231 ✭✭Bocadilloo

Very flat performance from Galway. Joyce will probably have to go after that. Ref was very dodgy in that game. And as for the last minute with the clock stopping, then nearly out of time, extremely dodgy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,429 ✭✭✭C__MC

I know the ref gave a dodgy free against meath against louth but he played with them today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,751 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

But then what about the 60 or so minutes Galway wasted dawdling about running backwards and sideways?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,488 ✭✭✭tanko

Galway are the new Mayo. I suppose they’ll blame Armagh for this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,621 ✭✭✭tobefrank321

Yeh. Without singling out players, a veteran player had the ball with couple minutes left, had runners with him, and chose Hail Mary shot that landed in goalkeepers hands. Typifies Connacht football over last 20 years if not longer.

Well done Meath , well deserved

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75,717 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Poor game. Galway would have to be disappointed with that performance even if they’d managed to win it. Not seeing an All Ireland winner

    Only if Armagh win.

Otherwise Kerry or Meath vs Tyrone or Donegal.
