Red Bernie is largely responsible for the demise of the democrats, just the american version of Marxist Corbyn

No, it's not near that yet. There hasn't been anyone even approaching the left nominated for President to this point. When that happens then things have dramatically changed.

Same polls that had him tied with Harris I suppose, that didnt work out to well for her.

It's hard to see Americans voting for a female President. A stupid move by the Dems. All they needed was a male with a touch of charm about him and they'd have won the election by landslide.

After claiming the bombing worked perfectly, that Iran had been brought to heel, and then for that to be exposed as utter b0llox, Trump is desperate for a win

Wasn't this essentially what Obama negotiated, and then Trump pulled out of?

Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!

    —-

RFK Jr. has announced that America will stop contributing towards Gavi, the global vaccine alliance.

    Kennedy stated:

"Unfortunately, in its zeal to promote universal vaccination, it has neglected the key issue of vaccine safety".

The USA making itself less relevant every day in a thousand different ways. They will never recover from the loss of reputation and influence inflicted by their Chosen One. Like the sinking of an enormous ship, the rest of the world needs to make sure it does not get sucked down into the depths with them.

I think a T-Shirt with Trumps head on it with the line "They don't know what the FÙCK they're doing", below it could sell well!

A weak dollar is bad for the US economy, but it is a double edged sword. A weak dollar is good for US Exporters until

1: US manufacturing processes get more expensive because of the weak dollar.

2: Europe and the rest of the world impose recipricol counter tariffs on US goods. Which they will.

Given Trump's age, it should say 'Great Granddaddy'

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

This obsession with the leader as a father figure seems to be common with authoritarians. I remember reading about the Strict Father Model (in a political context), as described by George Lakoff, and it's the best explanation I've seen for American right wing politics.

That said, calling another adult "Daddy" seems very weird to me.

Bernie is not my favourite by any means, but "Red Bernie"? He may be left by American standards, but he is more like a Social Democratic centrist in European terms. Don't compare him with Corbyn; do you want to tag a Jew as being anti Semitic, like Zelenskyy?

Anyhow this is a distraction from the awfulness of Trump.

It really isn't possible to have any sort of conversation with people who just throw around words and labels without any understanding of their meaning. You have never made any attempt to read about Marxism, (or Communism, Socialism, etc) or what the political description 'red' implies, but then you try and converse as though you know what you are talking about.

To which I'd add; the notion that someone so far on the margins of the Democratic party is somehow "largely responsible" for the party's woes is a pretty extraordinary one. By all means hold the opinion, but if you air such a suprising opinion without offering a justification for it, don't expect to be taken seriously.

I have yet to see any actual evidence of Corbyn being anti-semetic.

I don't understand why Bernie Sanders, a man who has repeatedly failed to win the Democratic nomination, gets promoted as if he's some sort of expert on winning elections.

That's because there isn't any. The black propaganda smear campaign against Corbyn was one of the most successful that I can remember in modern times. A man who actually has a proven track record of fighting against racism of all kinds is now considered an "antisemite" by a lot of people. Corbyn's mistake was signalling his support for Palestine and for a two state solution in the region and for that he needed to be taken down. So he was branded as "antisemitic", a term which, as we've seen over the last year and a half, is thrown about like confetti and usually with no qualification at all. Thankfully many people have woken up to just how flimsy that accusation is and aren't being duped any more.

However, the problem is that it has become so overused against people who aren't antisemitic that actual antisemites a sniggering up their sleeves.

Securing a presidential nomination is hardly an indication of his ability to win an election.

He’s been repeatedly elected to vermonts house and senate since 1991 as an independent, and funds his campaigns through small donations, and is considered unwinnable against for the republicans no matter how much they spend - I’d say his electoral record is excellent.

Getting a DNC presidential nomination as an independent was always going to be a long shot, especially as we’ve seen how poorly the senior members manage that process.

My response [Point taken about fraternal links being unlikely. I was thinking about cocooning a site where the host nation is likely to be unsure about the mix onsite due to it being hammered by heavy munitions and not just a coolant leak. Some-one seems to have suggested to Trump that was what the vehicle crews might have been doing on site after the bombing] to thatsdaft post above refers. Ukraine has actual technical expertise from Chernobyl in that regard.

In case you didn't understand my [Now did he get that from the Russians or his own people?] reference, it was to Trumps preference for Int briefing he got/gets from Putin's operatives and not his own people in the U.S.
