I think we can nearly view that as white smoke.

So much for the extensive search for new or previously ignored talent.

RTÉ shake-up sees odds slashed as new favourite emerges to take over Joe Duffy's Liveline

According to Ladbrokes, the odds and frontrunners to succeed Joe in the Liveline hot seat:

    Katie Hannon 1/5

    Oliver Callan 2/1

    Jennifer Zamparelli 2/1

    Claire Byrne 3/1

    Carl Mullan 5/1

RTE's claims of being willing to look outside the organisation for the new host is a load of Horlicks.

If Katie gets the job, I won't be listening in as often. I've already skipped some of the shows she's presented. The other contenders aren't great either. Maybe Oliver Callan could be alright, IDK, but the others are 💩.

    Part of the problem with Liveline is it's unwillingness to discuss certain topics. And if a caller strays into a subject that's banned, they're quickly dropped. {DELETED}

Same here, I can't stand KT. I think she's an awful presenter on both tv and radio.

With Joe Duffy being equally as awful, there was at least a smidgen of radio gold due to his buffoonery and idiosyncracies.

I don't think the hour and 15 will take much of a hit even with her as the resident telephonist, the slot audience usually holds up on that station (never turning the dial-itis) but she's really, really hard work

A thing isn't what it says it is.

A thing is what it does.

The soundboard needs to be updated urgently with

"It would put the heart crossways in your mouth"

    and

"I hope everyone's safe and sorry".
