Jiggy we're excellent last time I saw them, lively trad with some Indian style music / instruments blended in if I remember correctly, hard recommend!!

Actually some great trad acts in there, the trad rave was some craic a couple of years ago. As a friend pointed out to me Annie Naggins sounds like great craic! 😂

Thanks for highlighting this. Just checked out some of it on YT. Brings me back to my hardcore rave days 😀 Would love to see him at Arcadia but I fear it might be too late at night for me.

Aside from him I’m happy with several of the techno and non electronic additions, plenty for me and the kids to check out. I’m hoping leftfield are not on after midnight so I can take the kids to see them. Bring them to the Prodigy last year approx 30 years after I first saw them was cool and would be something similar with Leftfield.

Edit: just checked , actually only 27 years since I first saw Leftfield , don’t feel as old now 😆

I originally bought a campervan ticket but I recently swapped out my campervan for a caravan. Do you think they will allow my caravan in under a campervan ticket?? worried now as they are all sold out😫

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,743 ✭✭✭endainoz

Id say unlikely, but get an account on toutless and see if your can arrange some sort of a swap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,177 ✭✭✭rino87

Campervan and Caravan is the same ticket i thought?

Edit: @festi20244 Just checked my ticket, I have a physical copy, it says Campervan/Caravan so I'd say you're grand!!

Im considering bringing a trailer tent, they are unreal when set up.... I mentioned before that I saw them in with caravans, or in the family site, but a friend was told they are not allowed at night and day festival. Probably due to fire regulations I would think.... I must email ATN, 4 adults in a T4 is a squeeze, the trailer tent easily sleeps 8!

A buddy had his trailer tent in the campervan/caravan section last year… No issues

Playback doing stop making sense again. If you didn't go last year id highly recommend it,was so good. Kinda wish they were doing something different this time though!

Caught the end of biird at CMAT and while trad wouldn't be my thing they were very good, id defo pop out for a lovely sunny 4pm Sunday main stage spot.

It will be sunny. That's that

Well, any chance anyone is selling a ticket?! I got tickets in the presale and promised a friend that it wouldn't sell out and now we're short 1 🙈 very big oversight on my behalf 😬 whoopppssiiee!🙈😂

Yeah...I've 100% seen them there before, but the response my buddy got from Night and Day has me spooked...if insurance or something says they are not allowed then thats that I guess.

I could stay quiet in the hope that if 4 of us rock up with the trailer they are hardly going turn us away... If I mail them beforehand it might just be a plain no.

I'd hate to be responsible for the rest of the group scrambling to bunk in with others, myself and my better half would just crash in the car.

Is the trad rave the same people that ran the pagan rave at Body and Soul the first year back after covid? I wasn't at that one, but friends still talk about that pagan rave as one of their best festival experiences

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,575 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

I'm not sure if it's the same one but I seen the Trad Rave at the much smaller Wild Roots festival in Sligo just after Covid. It was serious craic. Everyone was talking about but we were reluctant as we thought it wouldn't be our thing. We arrived for the last 45 mins and were disappointed we didn't catch more of them.

    Would def recommend

They'd be a bit different alright, from the videos I've seen of the pagan raves, there seems to be a lot more live musicians and cool costumes involved. The trad rave is a more traditional DJ set up. Id guess the crowds drawn to these (hippies 😂) would be very similar.

No Trad Rave is Colm Olwill who runs the Haunt barn at EP.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I guess we won't get anything announced today with the last city from yesterday?

Back to the arcadia announcement, the afterburner is a beast and my recollection of it from EP & early ATN days is it's 360 degrees in the round with a sizable footprint requirement, my recollection of the bug arena was it wasn't that big, now I know they've said they've increased the arcadia area this year, and from the planning maps it looks like it's still in the same area, albeit cannibalizing some of the space the Ealu Le Grath area took up, but if anyone can expand on this it would be great, I love the afterburner, I do not love the new location, where it was in 2019 was perfect. The thoughts of walking around the site to get down there at the wee hours is always off putting, I'd love if they somehow improved upon this layout & flow of people around the site for this year

As a lone traveller, had planned to book a pre-pitched tent but currently sold out.

I hope to pick one up but need to have a plan b, so if anyone could recommend good spots for older gentlemen who require a night's sleep!

I understand it's all chance, but think near the back a hard day's night campsite best bet?

Put AVA back in the woods, and restore Arcadia to its rightful home!! Win win all round!

I realise I sound a bit "old man yells at cloud" here, but both were so so much better in their original locations

Totally agree. I don't think the changes they made to the layout of the festival since 2018/2019 have been great and in some cases the changes have worsened the experience.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 286 ✭✭DireD

Planning map looks the same as last year but i was really hoping they'd do something with that ava stage. Shocking location last year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 801 ✭✭✭antfin

It looks like Ealu Le Gra is gone and Arcadia is moved more into that area with Ping Pong disco moved back out towards where Arcadia was last year. Unless I'm misremebering it.

    Quiet camping.png

If looking for a 'Tranquil' camping spot 😉… I'd recommend the 'one for the road' campsite up by the campervans (It's a trek from main entrance no doubt)…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 801 ✭✭✭antfin

It looks like the setup is a bit different on the planning map and the campsite map released this year with general camping admission also up that end of the site so it might change the dynamics a bit based on the theory that the quietest area is usually based on the further from the entrance and main arena and a good distance off the pathways. If I'm not mistaken the general camping entrance last year was closer to where I've circled.

How does access to the boutique car park work? Do you show your podpads booking confirmation?

I am just thinking that my group of 6 will be arriving separately and I made the booking for the podpad.

looks like the Jameson Circle is getting announced shortly

No we didn’t have to show ours until where they were scanning tickets! I think in theory anyone can park at it but just makes sense to park near the boutique entrance if you’re boutique and to park near the general camping entrance if you’re in general!
