Israel Launches strike against Irans Nuclear Programme

Each night, the number of missiles from Iran has decreased. This may mean that Iran is holding back, but most likely the IAF are doing a number of them by taking out its supplies and, more importantly, its launchers.

You cannot underestimate the psychological blow this will deal to the regime and the average person in Tehran, given that the regime, as powerful as it likes to portray itself, cannot defend itself from the IAF, as it has free rein.

THIS is how regimes fall.

This may well be mere showboating by Trump to try and scare the Iranians. If he had made the decision to attack Iran, he would probably announce it in advance.

According to CNN, Israel has knocked out about 50% of Iranian surface-to-air missile launchers and capabilities.
A few days ago the number was about 30%. The IAF are grounding the Iranian air defence to a pulp.

Those who want the Israelis to get a bloody nose look to be very disappointed. Whatever your views on Israel, those boys sure can fight a war. Pound for pound, is there a better military apparatus in the world?

It's a lot easier to be militarily formidable when you have wide ranging access to the US toy chest plus unequivocal bipartisan support. That's a combo that few other countries, if any, enjoy.

Still, you play the ball as it lays, and I cannot say that Israel have not taken full advantage of their geopolitical position.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei posts an apparent threat to Israel on social media, saying, “The battle begins.”

“Ali returns to Khaybar,” the post says, according to a translation by the Iran International news outlet. The statement is a reference to the first imam of Shia Islam and his conquest of the Jewish town of Khaybar in the 7th century.

The post includes an image a man holding a sword entering a castle-like gate, with fiery streaks in the sky overhead.

You seem to want to paint anyone with a different view in the worst possible light.
Besides, there is a Gaza there for that, you can pontificate about Gaza there.

The thing though with many of these regimes, they spend a lot of time and resources on spying and suppressing their own people, rather than on winning a war and going toe to toe with another nation state.

Sure, Israel has had the pick of the good toys the US has, but it has sure made the most of them.

This thread is about the Israeli-Iranian conflict. If you want to talk about Gaza, bring it up there.

But the fact is, even military analysts are surprised at how well Israel is doing in decimating the Iranian military from the air. It's going much faster and better than hoped. Everyone was bigging up Iran as a regional superpower in military terms. But the fact is, from an intelligence point of view, it's been utterly compromised, and its air power and defence have been shredded in mere days.

Israel is a very small country yet has wipped its arse with a country that is much bigger than it. That is why I mentioned that while you may not like the Israeli military apparatus, you have to respect its effectiveness in this conflict with Iran.
