Trump’s Tehran ‘evacuation’ warning ‘extremely troubling’: Analyst

Matthew Duss, the executive vice president of the Washington, DC-based Center for International Policy think tank, said that Trump’s warning that Tehran’s entire population should evacuate the city was “frankly terrifying”.

“This is a metropolitan area of over 15 million people. Evacuating a city of that size is impossible, even before you consider the fact that people don’t have access to gasoline. They would have to be fleeing on foot,” Duss told Al Jazeera.

“But, unfortunately, it’s hard to know how seriously to take what Donald Trump says… But still, this kind of language from a president of the United States is extremely troubling. We should all be concerned,” he said.

Trump had earlier written in a post on his Truth Social platform: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

You'll need to go back longer than 40 years. In 1953 Mosaddegh was overthrown by a coup orchestrated by the US and UK because he was going to nationalise Iranian oil. Iranian oil reserves are the real reason why the west has always had an interest in Iran and the region as a whole.

Mosaddegh was ousted and the west put their puppet, Shah Pahlavi, in power, who subsequently went around the place with his death squads. Iran may have been relatively "secular", but was in no way a nice place to live. Fast forward to 1979 and the result was the overthrow of the Shah during the Iranian Revolution by a population that had had enough of his tyranny.

Had the west (i.e. America) stayed out of the region, Iran would be a very different place today.

I do not think they have the brains to realise any of this ….. Trump was never bright … it has been said he got another to do exams for him … and Netanyahu was supposed to be an architect …. but he does not show he is any more intelligent than Trump is …. if anything he comes across as less intelligent than Trump ….. in any way and could well have made up his background …… neither of these 2 show any intelligent leadership or diplomat skills whatsoever ….. 100% unfit to manage an office of 2 let alone a country ……

I thought it was illegal to attack nuclear facilities, does that mean all attacks on nuclear facilities are now fair game ?
