Blocking up chimney

    My parents are the planning to swap out an open fire and a gas fire with electric fire options.


    what are the options for semi-permanently blocking up the chimneys without heavy construction? I was hoping there is something I can slot down the inside of the pot and perhaps top off with cement? I was planning to put a sheet of lead over it too, but it’s very exposed site and it may blow off.
