Speakers and Amp

Hi RS team,

I'm looking for 6x in-ceiling speakers and an amp to connect them to.

Four of the speakers will be in one room and the other two in an adjacent room. I would like to be able to split them into at least two zones (4+2), ideally three zones (2+2+2). Also need to be able to stream music from Deezer and other music services, with music and output zones controllable via a phone app.

I only have about 50mm of depth to mount the speakers into the ceiling.

Would need fire hoods unless the speakers are fire rated. I already have cable.

Would you have any options for me to consider? Thanks

There would not be an amplifier that could run all 6 speakers at once and split them into Zones, unless you went down the Monitor Audio IA60-12 which is priced at £1389. (Special Order product and not held in stock).

This will run 6 pairs of speakers but you would need to then add in some steaming devices line the Wiim Mini coming in at £89

You would need one of these for each Zone, so 2 or 3 in total.

You could use 3 separate Wiim Streaming amps instead and each of these would run 2 speakers. They could then be group into 1,2 or 3 separate Zones via the Wiim app.

These are priced at £319 Each. I could offer at £299 if taking three of them.

For inceling speakers it fit your depth there are the Monitor Audio CSS230 which are just 50mm in depth.
Priced at £249 each. I could offer these at £225 Each.

If you wanted to use firehoods then there are the Hoody 1 which are priced at £59 Each. I can offer these at £49 Each.
Although with only 50mm depth and the speakers being 50mm there would be no room to fit the firehoods in.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll need to check the ceiling depths again to see if I could squeeze in the speakers plus the hoody.

I think two zones might be enough with zone 1 having four speakers and zone 2 having two speakers. But would you have something like a speaker switch where I could turn off either pair of the speakers in zone 1 if I wanted?

You can get a speaker switch like the QED SS30 - it has three zones and you can run them together or independently:
