Hi. My sister amd I used the "Housing Adaptation Grant for Older People" nearly 2 years ago under my dad's name to get work done on my parents house. He has since passed away. We're looking to use the grant again under my mam's name to get some windows done. It seems like itll be straight forward, but I'm skeptical that you can just go back again and get the same grant again like this. Are there checks in place to stop the grant being claimed a few times?, or is it fine to do this

    Thanks

After a quick google it appears they can if they meet the criteria. It looks like it's done on an individual basis but you would need to maybe give citizens information a call to be sure.

The Council will only do windows that are single glazed.
If your mam has Fuel Allowance then she needs to apply for the Warmer Homes Scheme instead.
search for it on the citizensinformation.ie website and you’ll find all the details and an application form.

The Warmer Home Scheme will not do Windows as a stand alone upgrade & will only replace single glazed windows if the walls they are positioned in are being insulated.

It's a very long process, my own home done last October, almost 3 years after first being approved.

You should look at the Housing Aid for Older People Grant which is for house repairs. Get whatever you need done using this as you can only get it the once, windows, heating etc.
