    Hi all

I've been shortlisted for interview for oide secondment position for next year. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of type of questions they ask etc. Really would love the opportunity to do well in the interview. Or if anyone has been through the process

    Thanks in advance

I would imagine it is subject/programme specific.

For me I got the sense they wanted to know what type of teacher I am, how well I could deal with conflict/ resistance to the messages and how well I can explain and sell new ways of doing things.

They are looking for people who will get their messages across and keep people on side throughout the day.

Do you have the 5 minute presentation to do? Put plenty of effort into making it relevant and interesting if you do.

I don’t know if it’s the same in all sections, but some who interviewed the last week of school heard within a couple of days that they were successful. I’d say in other sections they’re not even sure what jobs they have to offer.

Yeah heard back. Placed on panel hard to know if I'll get a job in future but that's all I know

A tip with the presentation is to keep it to time, or slightly under. You would be surprised how many candidates go over,

hey both, just wondering when they contacted your references. I’m wondering when to inform my principal. I don’t want to inform him if I don’t need to (if I don’t get called to interview) thanks.

    Hey CMG2025,

    Congratulations on getting the interview.

Can I ask what subject/area you applied for with Oide?

I haven't heard anything either way from my application.

    Thanks

Anyone know what the the subjects/areas are?

I'm forevery saying to myself I should apply but any time I check the website they're never looking. Would like to get out ahead of it for once and have my ducks in row.

I'm in special ed. teaching secondary aged students. Anything along those lines?

follow them on Twitter. They always post when they are recruiting. Are you on Facebook pages for your subject/ special Ed? Someone usually posts there too when the application forms are out.

I’d say they are done for full time positions for this year, but associate positions are usually advertised august/ September.

Typically they advertise around mid February and again in September. Check the website under Recruitment around then

Hey Rocychix, wondering if you heard anything more? Or anyone else for that matter? Just heard today that I got placed on the panel after interview last week. Trying to figure out how likely it is that I’ll get offered a position at this late stage in the school year as I know plenty of people interviewed back in March/April and have been on panels since then. Thanks in advance!

I was in same sphere last year and I asked what number I was on the panel which gives you an idea of how l9ng of a wait. I know a few left from my subject but not sire they have been filled.
