You couldn't make it up ….. almost a full year and they're still sitting on their backsides.

The first claim was submitted in December 2024. I'm unsure how they're sitting on their backsides for a full year.

The government have sat on it for 5 months. In that time, a new government was formed.

It's unacceptably slow but saying people are sitting on their backsides for a year isn't correct.

Surprised at the inclusion of the Engineer grades. They always seemed quite niche. Even slightly odder to see the Engineer Grade 1 included.

So is the local bargaining for an extra 1% and then that's it for the pay deal?

1% increase in August, local bargaining in Sept and then two 1% increases next year.

    Then back to negotiations

I'd imagine it includes the accountant grades as well

Engineering grades are increasingly used for IT staff, and are well below market rate - if I was making a decision on where to put increases it would be Engineering grades and COs; but I'm clearly not!

The Engineer 3 grade should be looked at anyway. Way too many small increments and a low starting salary.

Engineer 2 and Eng 1 pay more than HEO/AO and AP (Standard) respectively.

Most IT people in Civil Service are definitely on HEO/AP path.

No objection to anything here, just could see a bit of a fuss if it happened.

Though I agree that Eng grades should be used for IT staff more.
