    I've applied for TAC 2025 in Waterford. I haven't heard anything yet…

I was in the top 10 for Wexford on the Interdepartmental panel and mid-30s on open panel for Wexford for 2024 EO competition…I haven't heard anything from that either…

    Anyone else hear anything?

Hey everyone, first time poster, nice to meet you all.

Just wanted to check. I got my OOM(6) from interview on 08/05 and submitted qualifications next day but haven't heard anything since (Dublin based btw). Just wondering if anyone knows a rough idea how long until you're asked for garda vetting/reference check?
Or if anyone has any tips/template for what to email to ask for an application update?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Yooo,

Anyone going for the Trainee Auditor job?

What's this Case study exercise going to be like? Anyone have any examples?

Does anyone know how long after the interview they usually call back?

does anyone know when assigned a department , how long it takes for them to come back to you with a location and start date?

Think it depends on the department.

I was looking through the EO thread from 2023 and I saw some people say they were contacted by the dept's HR the day they were assigned, and others say it takes over a week.

I was assigned DOJ on 15th (just over a week ago) and I've heard nothing since. I think Justice might be slower than others though—I saw some say that once they were contacted they were given a start date 7 weeks out, and most of the people commenting from Justice said they weren't given a location until a few days before their start date. One said they were only told the location 2 hours into their induction day. Madness.

    Hey all,

I placed 3 on the OOM (batch 7) for Dublin. I’m hoping someone might have an insight on how likely it is I’ll be placed before the competition is due to close on June 30th? Also is there a way for me to find out where that puts me on the overall Open Stream?

    Thanks for the help!

    that’s bizarre right?!
Its crazy to think people are taking a job without knowing where they’re based!!!

I was assigned DOJ this week. I emailed them and they confirmed they’d received the papers from PAS and they would be in touch in the coming weeks with their assigned positions.
Hopefully we’re not waiting too much longer.

I got this message too a few hours after I'd posted! Bit of a relief tbh

@cirloc I've not heard anything else. A few others I know that are on the Meath panel also had no further updates once they confirmed eligibility. Seems as though Revenue was the only opening in the county.

I got assigned Revenue, can anyone shed a light of what is it like with regard to hybrid working and flexi time etc? Dress code? is it fairly relaxed?

I did, and I am curious about this too!

I don't have any accountancy background, but I qualified for the next stage by "

"hold a primary honours degree at minimum 2.1 (at least Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in any discipline"

I'm just curious if the learning curve will be too steep for me. I am currently 46 and self-employed, but looking for opportunities in the public service.

Does anyone have any experience of anyone going into this kind of role with no accountancy/public service background?

You will have up to 6 months working in office before WFH kicks in. This period could also be shorter, depends on department. I've seen cases where you will be WFH in 1 or 2 months. It's department dependent and who your HEO etc is.

Then WFH up to 4 days per week.

Dress code as previously said is relaxed, you'll know from day 1 the vibe so go from there. As I've said, don't go out of your way to buy a new wardrobe. Some people dress up, some don't. Just make yourself feel comfortable.

Flexi time can be worked up, will depend on department again if you can work Flexi time up while on "training". Some don't and just work 8.30-4pm.

thanks for that was going to email them this week. Might leave it a few weeks instead

@Totally Red Thanks for posting. I'm still a little confused. Does this mean they have reached number Interdepartmental:173 and will go no further or that is where they stand so far? For reference, I am interdepartmental: 250 and haven't heard from them since October 2024. Thanks in advance!

They have reached 173 so far it might move slightly more before closing date. But doubt it will go much past the 200 mark if even considering how slow it has moved. So unfortunately you may not hear at all

I applied for Clare and got top five in the OOM.

The last message I got was back in October and nothing since, is this normal?

Have I somehow missed out on an interview?

Has anyone any insight into working as an EO in the Central Statistics Office & what is it like in regard to hybrid working, flexi time & dress code?
