Yes it prints more cash the value of the dollar falls servicing the debt is going to cost more every year one wonders will the American economy recover after trump is gone This is a giant transfer of money to rich people while also penalizing middle class workers .Public services and medicaid us being cut the ironic thing is trump is attacking the average trump voter eg people on lower wages who rely on Medicaid to get medical care this is bad news for the American economy and consumers democrats will be left with an extra 4 trillion in debt less tax revenue to paid for medical or welfare for retired olde people Investors are switching to gold and other non us based investment options

I predict there, be a disaster floods wildfires and people will die cos fema is losing workers to deal with extreme weather events one example work has hardly even started on rebuilding los Angeles from last year's fires

Ametica is becoming more like Russia in terms of free speech if you speak out against trump or criticize Israel genocide you risk being punished or losing your job or being portrayed as an antisemite racist

An extra 4 trillions debt is a drag on the economy reducing me ney avaidable for public services or infrastructure like upgrading the systems used for flight control which are ten years out of date flying in a plane is becoming more dangerous in America with neat niss,s is a common accurance

In which Reuters explains that Trump used wrong footage in his accusations against the SA president of white mass killings.

Would any of those who argued as nauseam about the apparent use by him of the word "genocide" for DAYS care to explain or defend why Trump would knowingly or recklessly use wrong photos to assert what he says is true, if plenty of proof does exist?

Who am I kidding. Of ****ing course not.

Do Trumps "plain talking" in the White House was just another exercise in peddling race baiting lies.

Same behaviour when Trump and Vance peddled their racist vomit about immigrants eating pets.

Same furious outrage about being fact checked.

Trumps conduct in the White House was the conduct of an amoral gangster. Everyone can see the air force one scam he is pulling and when questioned about it he just attacks the journalist.

Yes it prints more cash the value of the dollar falls servicing the debt is going to cost more every year

Why? The debt is going to be entirely dollar denominated.

It will cause plenty of other problems for sure, raising the cost of imports etc. But the bigger issue for the debt is the spiralling bond rates that will make refinancing the debt more and more expensive (which are not unrelated to the above).

Printing money would cause inflation again which leads to higher FED rates

Americans love inflation as we have learned in last election

Bigger problem is not foreigners avoiding US debt but Americans and their institutions (universities for example are being actively prosecuted and have massive investments) avoiding it themselves, only solution to that is communist type capital controls which itself would cause great damage

Trump dug himself into yet another economic hole

On Bloomberg podcast they asked, what can FED do if there is stagflation?

    “Pray”

Imagine Trump going to Downing street and Starmer showing him a video of Jan 6 where Trump whips up the mob ("you have to fight like hell or you won't have a country" ) and shows the mob battering the capitol police and smashing doors and windows. "So Donald, you described these people as patriots and pardoned them, why was that? "

Apparently one of the 'evidence' pictures Trump was using of white farmers being killed in SA was actually from Congo, according to Reuters https://edition.cnn.com/2025/05/22/africa/south-africa-white-farmers-trump-congo-intl-latam

    So he was lying.

But he is always lying so why is anyone surprised?

What do you think about the Big Beautiful budget bill? It has a clause that prevents any court from persecuting Trump for breaking any law.

    See

    for details.

It’s ok @Manic Moran has assured us there are checks and balances which would prevent dictatorship via Enablement Act type manoeuvres and violent Coups and Insurrections

As a tv show these oval office moments are gold, shame that's what America is reduced to

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,740 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Yeah, it simply does not matter that the info Trump was using was wrong.

If he's asked about it, "You're a horrible reporter, you shouldn't even be a reporter."

If Karoline Leavitt is asked about it, "No, you're wrong. What actually happened is the opposite of what you're saying. Next."

If anyone in a Congressional Hearing is asked about it, "This is not what the American people care about and you are wasting billions of dollars!"

Trump could drag Michael Martin into the Oval Office, hold up a picture of Liam Neeson and claim his daughter was kidnapped by foreign nationals and Michael Martin hasn't done anything about it, and the next day the media response would be "Michael Martin TAKEN aback by Trump attack in Oval Office"

It has a clause that prevents any court from persecuting Trump for breaking any law.

That is not even close to what that clause means and has no relevance to criminal sanctions.

It's not a good clause by any means, but it is also re-iterating essentially the status quo when it comes to Trump. Federal courts have no real means of enforcing their decisions on the Federal Govt as things stand, unless you think the US Marshals are going to storm the White House. He has already been ignoring court orders with impunity. It is certainly horrendous (and potentially unconstitutional for all it matters) for lawmakers to codify that however.

What a relief, I am glad that this youtube commentator is just scaremongering and that this is not actually true.

I don't particularly expect much better from Richard Murphy, but yeah analysis of these very serious matters should probably be conducted thoroughly and accurately and not couched in hysteria. The clause is bad entirely on its own merits

Dow futures down, after the economically illiterate rapist threatened 50% tariffs on the EU

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,427 ✭✭✭Wolf359f

So Trump now threatening the EU with 50% tariffs and Apple with a 25% import tax on iPhones.

Not sure how the import tax on iPhones would work. They would probably be better off delisting from the US stock market and moving their head office outside of the US to get around that import tax. He seems to have the issues because it's an American company. He doesn't seem to bothered with Samsung or Google phones etc...

Absolutely unhinged, hes gonna pump and dump his **** stock again. Just you watch

I get the impression that Trump has previously tried to shakedown Apple for their lunch money and they've invited him to go pleasure himself.
