ITV Be to become ITV Quiz

ITV have announced they are to close ITV Be on all TV platforms in the UK from this summer.

Some of the shows on ITV Be like TOWIE & Real Housewifes will move back to their original home of ITV2. Although a lot of the shows on ITV Be are going to be scrapped altogether due to cutbacks taking place at ITV.

The ITV Be slot will be renamed to become ITV Quiz from June 2025.

The new channel will showcase repeats of gameshows from the ITV Studios catalogues.

I presume The Chase and Bullseye would end up on ITV Quiz instead? Could kill Challenge off altogether as they’re their most repeated shows at this stage.

so why would you want to have this channel deleted from Saorview. Many people watching Saorview don’t have the freesat channels and likely enjoy those quiz shows re runs. Saorview unfortunately is going Mickey Mouse , aren’t the RTÉ plus one channels going as well as most of the digital radio stations ? Be careful what you wish for ! It’s embarassing when Saorview and Freeview are compared for channel content

I don't, but it's still clogging up the bandwidth regardless. Why can't a channel like Sky Arts or maybe Sky Mix be on the platform instead?

I reckon there's room for either of those channels without removing Challenge. Clearly Sky doesn't want to put them on at the moment.

Sky own/operate all 3 channels mentioned, its up to Sky to decide which channels are on which platform.

VM won't pay for it. In fact, it's because of a court case by them why the charging system for Saorview is as it is. They've always been cheapskates, even going back to the TV3 days when they were only carried on the main transmitters and one or two relays.
