anyone know what batch has been placed at the moment? I am high oom on one of the newer batches just wondering if I’ll be placed before the comp closes.

Yes I applied too for 2025. Revenue Audit and Compliance don't seem to do the aptitude tests anymore. Not sure if that's due to so few people applying for these positions.

Applied for communications officer (EO) in 2024, have interview soon. This whole process is very new to me. I note that it says most vacancies will arise in Dublin. Given I'm the other end of the country, I'm wondering if I'm basically wasting my time. Has anyone else successfully gotten a comm officer role but been placed say in Donegal, Galway, Cork etc

I sent qualifications 15th of March and not been asked for vetting yet and there are 16 ahead of me in Westmeath so it does depend on County but just to give you an idea

Guessing your interview was for Dublin for the Tax, Audit and Compliance Revenue comp.

Do they issue OOMs with this comp?

    Or how are candidates placed?

Hi just wondering if anyone did their interview with board B internal EO Justice competition ?

I done my interview a few weeks ago for Communications Office role. I interviewed for Dublin, Kildare and Sligo batch as I would only be interested in Sligo. I didn’t bother interviewing previously for other areas like Dublin etc as I live to far away to commute. I’m in top 3 on merit list now but sure it could take months.

Has anyone been assigned to the department of rural and community development if so, is it a good department to go to and what is there WFH policy?

I passed on that one as don't live in those counties. Have interview this week for nationwide campaign, whatever that means, do I get to choose county preference somewhere down the line? Any preparation tips about questions/answers appreciated & how long was the interview?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10 ca_mamc21

yeh I live in Donegal so I was happy enough as on the Sligo boarder but this waiting around is such a killer. Oh right ok so they must be recruiting now for most counties then if they didn’t bother to narrow it down so that’s positive. You definitely will have the opportunity to state what county. Did it say anything about that in the email about the interview? I would email them and just remind them whatever county you want to be listed for.
Regarding the interview. The basically just ask you about a scenario for each competency so just have a sample ready. You do not need a different sample for each one. Sometimes the way the questions go you will just refer back to the previous question and scenario anyway to add to it etc. They are strict on time. 40 mins exactly. It does go by fast. Yeh so they ask stuff like tell me about a time you managed a team and then a follow up question like how did you manage conflict within a team. Tell me about your comms experience. That sort of stuff.

Has anyone in Westmeath been assigned to anywhere in Mullingar yet? Or has everything so far been Athlone?

I wish! The panel hasn't moved in two months... so frustrating 😫 Hopefully they'll extend it though.

Called for interview for EO in Tax, Audit and Compliance with revenue. Anyone have any idea on what could be asked in regards to that specific competition?

Wondering if anyone knows how long additional security clearance takes? It’s so ridiculous they contact your reference before you enter a period of additional checks.
My current job are now aware I’m trying to leave and putting pressure on me for dates so they can recruit but I don’t have them answers because of a silly process

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 bogthing

I’m in the exact same position, and sorry, I have no idea how long security clearance takes 😮‍💨 surely this could be done alongside Garda vetting if there’s a reasonable chance you could be selected for a department that requires it, very awkward situation at my current job now.

does anyone know how long it usually takes from Garda vetting being completed to being offered a position please?

Impossible to give an answer. Could be a week, could be months. Are you next in line on OOM?

I'm in the same boat. Was assigned DOJ on Thursday last week and haven't heard anything since. Anyone know if/when I can expect to hear?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 stevea110

Ive been given a start date, which is two weeks away but I haven’t been told an actual location yet. Is this standard & when do they tell you where you will be based?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 139 ✭✭Icbaby

you would normally be given this information when told so that you can decide whether to take the position or not. I’d go back and ask the location. If they have given you a start date then they know where you’re starting.

Hey all what would the email be to see were they are at, can't seem to find it on the message board?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 SarahLou2705

Found out this morning I’m DOJ too. I’ll give it a couple of days and email them! It’s a crazy way to do things

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51 ✭✭Angel Flora

Hey outside Dublin, I believe shortlist aftet interviews or so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 SarahLou2705

It creates a really awkward situation. Definitely should be done as standard. I know of someone else a few years ago who was offered a Garda civilian job and additional clearance was 16 weeks. Hoping it’s quicker, that was in 2019.

Just checking how quickly people got asked for qualifications? I got interview results on Friday

    Hi @ kmz50096

I got my results on Friday 9.5. Got asked to confirm locations in that county the same morning and replied to that question immediately.

I was asked for my qualifications on Monday 12.5. I replied straightaway as I already had scans of them. They confirmed receipt that day.

    I haven't heard a peep since.

I'm not in Dublin but in a much smaller county but I'm Batch 1 and number 1 OOM so I'm about as fast as it gets here.

    Hope that's helpful!
