we had 4 inches in the south of the county in April ,30mm of that in the last 2 days only 11 days ago

So not quite crying out for it yet

There will be showers tonight as it appears to be closing in from Irish Sea

It’s damn fine here atm though,we’ve not had a drop yet

Are you sure about that? I don't think most of the country saw rain since after Friday 25th April. Where are you seeing 30mm between 26-30 April? I checked a few southern stations and nothing registered on 29/30 April. They were both sunny/warm days. Remember April 30th was the day of the record temperature in Athenry (25.9C).

I haven't seen rain since Friday 25th April. 15 days. Some light drizzle today for about 15 mins was it.

Well the rain showers arrived here in Dublin at 8pm. Stopped now

We did very well, it was predicted from about 4pm and it was so warm today.

A couple of drops of rain now in Greystones. First rain since April 26th.

The 30 mm was in the last 8 days of April specifically the 22nd to the 26th,so just 2 weeks ago

These were days when rain lingered near the east coast

Nothing here but I coukd see the slate grey to the east sliding towards Dublin before it got dark

A few small sharp showers look like drifting in behind that

If we miss those down here we'll stay dry

Not a drop of rain in Rathdrum today despite it being forecast. Even the radar has been showing it overhead the past hour or so but it's not reaching the ground. I got the lawn mowed and the place was covered in leaf casings from the beech trees and catkins from the Willows so got all that tidied up in advance of the rain but it never arrived. Actually ended up a really nice evening here had dinner outside. Marvellous weekend of sunshine.

A steady fall of huge raindrops put 0.4mm into the gauge here in Kildare this evening.

Could hear the drops on the roof
    15 day dry spell over

Ok gotcha but you had said 30mm in last 2 days of April which were completely dry and only 11 days of dry weather. I don't think there was much rain anywhere on the 26th during daylight hours but definitely nothing since then until the bit of drizzle today.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

yeah that was meant to be 7

We’d just 0.4 last night and unless we import a Welsh thunderstorm or shower this evening,we will be building a defecit if the next 2 weeks are like the last here

Beautiful evening in Dublin again after a fairly miserable morning (though no harm in a bit of rain to be fair), really feels more like July than early May.

A nice looking shelf cloud approaching from the east now so I guess more rain on the way and hopefully a few rumbles

Yellowy dark grey sky with large droplets of slow rain.
    I smell thunder 😉

    SCD.
