Another grade where we have lost to Kerry again. Are we ever going to beat them at any level again? What are they doing in Cork that we are always second best against the old enemy? Jesus we have almost 5 times the population between city and county and we can't get players in any level to be good enough against their Kerry counterparts. Surely we should have more to choose from but we continue to end up 2nd best to Kerry. How is the coaching not good enough? How is the standard not good enough? , what are Kerry doing that we aren't? We should be beating them from time to time but it hasn't happened in any grade for a very long time. Embarrassment to whoever is in charge of Cork football structures.

I don't think problem is losing to Kerry, it's the widening gap I would be extremely concerned about though.

And it's not like Kerry are winning Minors or u20 All Irelands either.

Staying within single digit defeats seems tough for us now.

In no way do I want aim finger at these fine young men who I'm sure are giving 100%.

The structures and coaching in Cork football is a utter embarrassment, and what's worse is County Board don't seem give a ****.

The alarm bells have been ringing for few years now.

I'm not sure why County Board are standing still.

Probably does not help we are in debt. Heads should be rolling but we get same crap next year trust me.

My question is also where has that 5 year football plan that was introduced around 2019 gone to?

Canty, Counihan and Tracy Kennedy were all there on the launch of that and it was supposed to be the next big thing for Cork football.

Cork football is in no better shapes now than it was in 2019. It's not the players I have issue with, like The Kew_Tour said, they are giving 100%, and the commitment they give is appreciated by all of us, it's the structures, coaching, and what they are teaching our players underage is my issue.

Why can't we go away and just look at Kerry and see how they do it? How are they a level above Cork in all grades? Breeding is one thing that Kerry have with football but Cork has 5 times the population of Kerry and to every 1 talented player Kerry can produce we should be easily producing 5. Obviously imo it's the way we coach football and the structures are the issue. Kerry have always the upper hand here. Kerry are never too far away from winning All Irelands in every grade. We should be trying emulate what they do and try and do it better.

Good for them. Time the Camogie authorities caught up with modernity.

Cork 0-13 Clare 1-8 HT. both sets of forwards look dangerous, Clare with a few wides early on helped Cork into the lead but the last 15 min or so has been much more even

Really should have a goal on the board but can't really complain with having a 2 point lead.

Really exciting game! As you said, both forwards look very good. Cork unlucky not to get a goal and I was wondering was the Cork forward taken out after he flicked it past the keeper. It really is very tight but great showing from both teams do far!

I thought I read someone saying during the week that the 2 barrys can play U20 next year. Is this true? They were the ones that almost look ready for senior

Was the scoreboard wrong on TG4? Looked like they gave Clare a ninth point at one stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,399 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 3 up after 45min. we have left a couple more goal chances after us. lucky our no.12 didn't see red for a shoulder to the chest/head

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,399 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Brilliant save from the Clare keeper. Cork 4 up with 10 min to go

Petition to ban Clare from gaelic games forever. I hate this every effing time

2nd Clare goal has us 1 down in injury time

Cork 0-20 Clare 2-15 FT. missed 3 chances in a row to level it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,221 ✭✭✭lukin

Cork threw that game away. Especially with the two missed frees at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,828 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Fantastic game!! Really unlucky to lose that. A few refs decisions went against us at vital times, Especially the one where we were 4 points up and he said it was throw. It didn't look like one on first glance. Then we missed frees at vital times. A real game we should have won with all the chances we created for goals and in fairness they were great saves. I thought our keeper going for long range points was an error as I thought our forwards were wining the battle up front at the time. Then again if they go over, you would not complain.

Honestly thought we were the better team but they got the goals on the day.

5 wides in a row. Criminal. We really let that one slip away. As a team they got better with every game they played and could well have continued that had they won. An opportunity not taken.

I think it might have even been 6 wides? Only one wide until around the 50th min. A game we left after us

The 2 Barrys both played minor hurling in 2023 so are good to play u20 again next year. BOF is actually has a December DOB as far as I know so unlucky we don't have him for another year!

Not sure what the benefit is though. Will the Rules be changed before they play again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,828 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Yes its outrageous to both sets of players and fans that might have made plans to travel, to cancel it around 20 hours before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,575 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

Had the goal chance been taking with 3 points in it ye would have driven on and won

Criminal and all the 5 wides were it's important not to be getting too carried away, both Barry Walsh and Barry Flynn were at fault, and both serious prospects for cork hurling going forward

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,575 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

Barry Walsh has the potential to be bothered hoggie and Bryan Hayes in one and you criticise him for the only two frees he missed all night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,750 ✭✭✭thesultan

O’Brien and Wilk look prospects in the backs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,828 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I thoght it was 20 hours but it was actually worse. Statement from both Camogie teams
