surely Cullen has to go after that.?

Best squad in Europe the last few years and nothing to show for it.

Racism is now hiding behind the cloak of Community activism.

Jesus, I'm not even a Leinster or Northampton fan and I'm about to fall over with the second hand nerves.

What a finish - Northampton came to play have to respect that.

    Disaster for Leinster.

    Northampton came with right intensity.

    Niebauer system to be questioned.

    Vesty good coaching.

    I am so disappointed.

Can't believe that result...never saw it coming. Leinster are a better team than Northampton but when they are under pressure Leinster seem to fold to easy....how do you fix that?

Two opportunities to kick the 3 with a man advantage at the end. Really poor decision making. Not starting Barrett was braindead.

Well done Northampton, absolutely superb display, played amazing attacking rugby. Doris going off was a huge loss. Singlehandedly turned the momentum at the start of the 2nd half

Ref absolutely bottled the last 10 minutes, but that was lost in the first half because our defense was absolute muck. I've said it before, I really don't like what Neinaber has done.

How many times did he get skinned? His defensive frailty has been evident since he came through.

Its easy looking good when you have an armchair ride most weeks.

Leinster coaching team has cost the team multiple trophies. For years they are falling short with the best squad and they have not addressed a thing.

Northampton must have been illegal at least a dozen times in the last few minutes. Pollack was off his feet and never released in the turnover with 5 minutes to go. Constantly hands in the rucks. Ref ignored it all.

    We don't have a 10

Our pack can't retain and recycle a bone dry ball on perfect ground.

RG Snyman threw everything away into thin air like a game of Tag. I've never seen the likes.

Northampton deserved their victory, and our coaches have some very serious questions to answer about selection, approach, game management and ability to reorganise and adapt.

Not signing Kwagga Smith was a huge mistake. Worst back row performance from JVF and Deegan since 2015

It's a problem with Leinster/Ireland I was hoping it would have changed when sexton retired. Knockout rugby, kick your points

What a waste of 6 months of Jordie Barrett.

Are Leinster the biggest chokers in world sport? Best team year after year and never win it out. A full team of internationals and their pick of whatever All Black or Springbok they want and never win it out.

They'd still be playing (and against fourteen) if they'd shown the Saints some respect.

would the yellow card have carried into extra time?

Henry Pollock was absolutely incredible. Best back row on the field by a distance. Was everywhere and just an absolute pest.

Rubbish, Prendergast looked like a lost child out there, he was terrible, wake up ffs.

Two attempts to tie the game and arrogantly declined. Northampton took all their chances deserved that game but Leinster really need to look at themselves.

One issue I have is, from a Leinster & Ireland perspective, the amount of times we talk about team “x” and team “y” and how they’ve “done their homework” and I’m thinking, why don’t we ever do that? It was obvious what Northamptons strengths and weaknesses were and we did nothing to stop it…same with Ireland when they played France, like they are just shocked that they just scored…

No good having the best squad if the players cant keep their heads.

Time and time again this Leinster and Ireland team has shown it doesnt have it mentally at the highest level.

The cockiness and in some cases arrogance came and bit Leinster today. Northampton were, like many teams are, energised by it.
    That energy was the difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,687 ✭✭✭KaneToad

Leinster didn't fold. Northampton were just the better team. Their game plan was spot on.

Most Leinster players did ok with the notable exceptions of Snyman & Prendergast who had below average games.

The fact that no Leinster player really shone, except TO'B is testament to how well Northampton played.

Also I don't think Snyman (ironically) & McCarthy are able to play Nienbars defence.

Mentally weak, very similar to Ireland, can't handle the pressure at crunch time, a lot of the same players involved, very hard to see them come back from that.
