VW Golf MK7 water leak in boot

    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on an issue I'm having with the boot emblem drain pipe.

I have a 2013 1.4 GT Golf Mk7, it's originally from NI and I'm currently working my way through fixing all the dreaded leaks.

I'm current in the boot drain tube.

I've taken all the trim of the boot/hatch and at the back of the VW badge, where there is meant to be a white 90degree plastic tube that the water can drain from

and there there is absolutely nothing. Not even a place where the tube could go.

Is there some type of replacement emblem that deletes this drain tube? If so does that mean the leak associated with the drain is not an issue?

The part number on the emblem is 3C5.827.469.J.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Was there a tube there already (that you removed)?

I've had to change mine a few years ago, and I can't remember off-hand if there was any 90 degree fixing - I don't think there was, but I can't say 100%. I only replace the black tube which ran from the hole at the bottom (as per your photo) up to the emblem.

If water gats in can can't drain out, it will make itself known when you open the boot and it dribbles out around the rear glass. If you had a drain tube there previously, and that wasn't happening, you were probably alright!

No. No drain but there was a rubber bung in the drain hole at the very bottom of the boot. I'll attach a photo.

Just very strange as I can find nothing about a MK7 without a drain pipe at the back of the emblem.
