    What's the forecasted temperature range?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,648 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

For me, 37 and climbing towards 43C. .

Change of plan so heading home 🏠 BLUE will be happy as will I with a cold beer.

Somehow our catering thought that they were feeding a zoo.

OH got me this, monkey sh|t coffee.. those little creatures eat the beans and crap them out, they are then cleaned and become one of the worlds most expensive coffees.

    Good morning Wherers 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,397 ✭✭✭✭suvigirl

Hey, only wondering have you ever tried forcing yourself into more regular hours? Like set the alarm every morning, for say 8 am and no matter how much sleep you have had or not had, you get up anyway? Maybe it's not that easy ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,187 ✭✭✭Addmagnet

Exactly, upload photo to ChatGPT, ask it to reproduce it in an anime style.

Full disclosure, I actually pay a monthly sub for ChatGPT (it works well for a lot of the Excel-type analysing I have to do).

Or, maybe say feck it, and not worry about what times you feel sleepy and what times you don't. Of course, modern society is mostly set up for a 9-5 type of thing (or was, not so long ago), but if you're in a position where your livelihood is not dependant on selling your soul to a corporation, why not?

True. I have been working shifts for 30 years or so and tbh, I always just feel better when I get to bed before 11pm and wake up between 6 & 7. But I realise that is a personal preference. Some people love being up all night!

And I have been released from hospital!

    Untitled Image

And my utmost respect to the wonderful staff at the Mercy hospital! ❤️

Excellent and friendly care from them all.

Oh I’ve tried but even with tablets if I’m not naturally tired I’m still awake . Even if I get up early and am tired I might sleep for 12 hours

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,978 ✭✭✭thomil

Can only second that from my personal experience, the crew at the Mercy are amazing, really made you feel cared for!

Glad to hear you're out backing your own four walls. Any outpatient stuff waiting, or all good?

Homeside here, feeling absolutely wrecked! Was out and about in the city today, primarily for a public meeting regarding the proposed new light rail line here in Cork. Hadn't been out in that part of town in ages and cycling into the city centre afterwards was just pure bliss in this weather. Even the other road users were bearable! 😁

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Looks like it must have been a lovely day here too. I'm on again tomorrow night then hopefully off for three

@thomil - great photos of a very verdant Cork City along the Lee. Fresh air and activity are a great tonic for stress. 😊 🚲

Chilling sofaside, watching Forrest Gump with my OH on the telly. I love this feelgood film - and I always tear up when Jenny dies near the end. 😭

Home time soon, hope I get a sleep like yesterday. Five solid hours in a row was beautiful.

Just got the notice of termination from my landlord. I guess the fight is really on now!

I'm just so tired of this…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Sod them, it's incredibly rare that they could actually force you out. Try MABS I think they meditate stuff like this.

Company just hoping you are an easy rollover

Doesn't apply here, since the termination is for Rent Arrears, the notice period is 28 days in that case. So far, I only have it via email, not via post, but as it looks, I'll be out on the streets by the end of May. I'll be in city hall tomorrow to drop off my social housing support application with the council, I picked up the application yesterday and was planning to do it anyway, but I'm not hopeful that this will provide any form of help.

I guess that's Ireland for you, from working to living off your reserves to out on the street in eight months…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Even arrears won't get you booted the way these companies try to convince you it will PRTB and Threshold immediately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,978 ✭✭✭thomil

Threshold have been ghosting me for the last week and a half, and were about as helpful as a chocolate teacup before that, and PRTB seems useless to me, given that I have nothing to offer and anyway, the termination notice is here.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

The RTB are being crap?. Did the company also send a notice to them too? It's a requirement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,978 ✭✭✭thomil

Yes. They emailed PTRB, putting me in CC, whilst presumably also sending a letter, though I didn’t see anything in my mailbox today. I’ll poke Threshold again tomorrow but again, I don’t really expect anything to come out of it.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

I'll have everything crossed for you

Go to the free legal aid board , tomorrow . There has to be a way to at least postpone an eviction for a reasonable period of time .

Make an appointment tomorrow with a solicitor and make sure that they are in no doubt that it’s an emergency .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,663 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I'd definitely also try MABS to see can they negotiate arrears repayments.
