    Hi there,

we have to do my accounts for the first time. It's a small private limited company so my partner and I will do our own accounts. The company is not VAT registered.

We want to file our first Corporation Tax return on ROS.

What form do we need to fill out, and where to upload it on ROS?

    Thanks

You will need to do a form CT1. There should be an upload button on the home page which allows you to pick the tax.

You can complete the form online if you are registered for ROS, you can save it and come back to it so it doesn't have to be done in one go. Don't forget the CRO return and have you made a filing with the RBO.

    Thanks for the replies.

We presumed it was the CT1 form, but wanted to be sure.

Yes, we filed with the RBO when the company was set up.

The CT1 form seems a bit tricky to complete. Is there any help online for completing it?

I see some guidance forms from around 2022. Has it been updated since then?

    Thanks again.

It might be best to employ the services of a professional to ensure that everything is completed properly.

    Would second this opinion

It's not worth the hassle of someone figuring out how to prepare a set of abridged accounts that comply with the companies act 2014 requirement that are required for submission to the CRO, unless you really don't value your time then your life will be much better if you engage an accountant. It's one of the drawbacks of incorporation vs being a sole trader, the additional filing requirements
