Accidentally murdered a soldier during one of the final battles of the main quest and Lucien Lahance came knocking. Seems a fitting quest to start after being forsaken for defending Cyrodil.

DF PC report isn't good. It's an absolute stutterfeat and performs really poorly

I forgot how difficult it is to cure Vampirism. Fairly annoying.

I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this! I was 14 when the original released in 2006 and I must have put hundreds of hours into it. At €55 on Steam I thought it was a bit much, but I got a Steam key from a key selling site for €40 which is probably what Bethesda should be charging. To be fair it does look like a lot of work went into this, the game looks and runs amazing. Small bit of stuttering sometimes when I'm out in the woods but I'm still playing around with settings. No crashes so far, good work Bethesda. Apparently Fallout 3 is getting the same treatment which I'm very excited about because I've never really played it.

And how easy it is to catch the stupid disease. Struck once by final vamp in a cave after sniping the rest and contracted it.

No crashes for me yet though when I came back from the Great Gate in the main quest it was… quite the sight - the entire army turned on poor old Jauffrey and made bits of him😂 No idea what he did to warrant such an assault

I'm still playing the game as a vampire after catching it at the very beginning, it is a melter and I'm not arsed paying for grand soul gems.

On the bugs, I think the game crashed on me twice, Oblivion gates not spawning or not letting me enter, but not anything major that's taking away from my enjoyment.

The game has crashed multiple times for me on PC unfortunately, no issues on Xbox.

I haven't had any crashes, but I've been restarting the game if playing for an hour or more because I've found it helps performance.

Acrobatics is worldy stuff in Oblivion basically parkouring around Cyrodil. I hope whatever Elder Scrolls 6 ends up being that it takes the best of Oblivion that Skyrim didn't have.

Yeah blend the best of what worked in both games.

    And don't simplify things!!

Graphically they did a mostly great job.

    Gameplay wise….

I know its a "remaster", but for the price I expected way more in terms of quality of life improvements and modern gameplay mechanics.

Pretty **** that I have to install a whole bunch of mods just to get it into a half playable state.

As usual per Bethesda it looks like "the modding community" will have to do their work for them.

Still graphics and nostalgia are clearly a winning combination for sales, releasing the same day as the official announcement meant that there were no reviews!

New players are going to find this game strange and frustrating, dungeons that lead nowhere, no climb/grab mechanic, no "call horse" feature, and the *still* unbelievably poor melee combat. If you're not on PC you can't mod those issues away. Caveat emptor.

I've not installed any mods, don't feel the need to. I think when playing it's important to remember that this is a game from 2006 with a fresh coat of paint on it. If you're expecting "modern" anything your expectations were unrealistic.
