I will say that they could have gone farther. In their presentation that caused all the kerfuffle, they pointed out how The Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people was supported by the US. At the end of the slides, it showed

    F*CK ISRAEL

    FREE PALESTINE

I would put any money on it that they either were talked out of, or backed out of writing, "F*CK THE USA" (Because of where they were).

I would not be surprised if it makes an appearance at their future concerts, outside of the US.

Young, passionate and foolish as they may be at least they stand for something. Can't condone the MP comments but name another act/band/person in the public eye who will speak their mind at the loss of their pocket

Cant really stand Kneecap - their music is quite crap to be honest but at least they are consistent - The Palestine thing has been chanted at their gigs way before the current round of conflict. Theyve always in my opinion been just doing this stuff to stir the **** so to speak and wallow in the controversy and notoriety it brings them.

As for the whole "kill an mp" thing - growing up before the GFA there was always that mentality of wanting certain members of the UK government dead - they are acting the maggot and as the saying goes "theres no such thing as bad publicity"

But on a similar note should Disturbed have their Irish gig cancelled - the singer is just as bad as what Kneecap are doing - signing bombs meant for Palestinians - Hes also a fundraiser for "Friends of the IDF"

Maybe get Kneecap to support Disturbed - now that would be a gig not to miss.

Seriously though should we really start censoring music? Some of the stuff I grew up listening to would have the youth of today queing up for therapy - between death metal, punk,Rap etc etc.

Some of it was a lot worse than kneecaps tame attempts to gain notoriety.

There's no point standing with either faction but on balance it's fair to say the people of Palestine are the victims here.

There's a reason we learn history in school, colonialism is no craic for the oppressed.

Sinead O'Connor ripping up a picture of the pope which in hindsight wasn't as crazy as it was branded at the time.

    Kneecap taking a similar stance.

Neither act has written a hit song

In Ireland, incitement to hatred is a crime defined by the Prohibition of Incitement to Hatred Act 1989. It involves communicating threatening, abusive, or insulting material that is intended or likely to "stir up" hatred against a group of people based on their race, color, nationality, religion, ethnic or national origins etc.

Because the sectarian racist group Kneecap called for the murder of British politicians I really hope the book is thrown at them, especially as they are such an influence on young people and as some of their fellow Republicans in balaclavas have actually murdered British politicians they disagreed with. Whipping crowds of followers in to a frenzy is very dangerous and calling for the murder of elected democratic politicians is despicable.

If you haven't watched Louis Theroux's documentary which aired on bbc2 at 9pm tonight maybe give it a whirl.

II'm astounded that people can still stand on the side of the genocide and be irate when a musical act call it as it is.

As an aside isn't it great fun to argue with random boards users about a conflict that (hopefully) doesn't directly effect us on a Sunday night and have the freedom to do so

Hamas work for Benjamin, not a single action from Hamas has ever resulted in anything positive for the Palestinians and every action gives 'justification' for the brutality of the IDF, Hamas are the greatest tool of the Israeli state

    Love hummus. Hate Hamas.

Brave to do it in one respect, but the risk of being banned for life from from gigging in the USA and maybe the UK would make me refrain from deeply political rants onstage. Especially when everyone records gigs on their phones these days. Nothing ever goes away on the internet.

Wonder will they get 5 years in jail for incitement to hatred …surely dressing up as a provo and telling people to kill British politicians ( like some of their fellow Republicans did) is incitement to hatred if there ever was incitement to hatred?

Otherwise whats the point of having incitement to hatred legislation if influental people like Kneecap can whip their followers in to believing they should kill politicians. Most followers will not kill anyone but what about that percentage of their followers who get carried away after a few drinks?

Encouraging support for terrorists is hardly clever.

Making pathetic comments about dead tories is equally so.

TThese Tyoes of comments show how truly uneducated and untalented these morons are.

They get a little bit of credit fir being so 'radical' and it goes to their little heads.

They are every bit as bigoted as the orange order. Imagine a British band calling for the murder of an Irish TD. And if they really cared about the people of Palestine they certainly wouldn't be supporting Hamas. A Palestine under Hamas will certainly never be free.

I didn't so I'm glad I know about it now. Dangerous group.

I always have respect for any artist who ploughs their own furrow and also who garners a lot of success quickly. It's tough out there. Also, I usually don't care about an artists politics or personal life, but sometimes I draw an arbitrary line. I still read Roald Dahl, I don't listen to the who.

However I always suspected Kneecap's political posturing was just that - posturing. Nobody who says "Up Hamas" or "Up Hezbollah" should be taken seriously on the topic of Israel or Gaza. It's not that they are wrong about other things, they are just not to be taken seriously, like a first-year university student handing out leaflets on marxism on Grafton Street. Your point may be valid but you don't really know anything.

It'll be a shock for the nordy lads, but you can condemn both sides.

Hamas are probably the Palestinians worst enemy. There have been anti Hamas protests in Gaza, which is extremely dangerous as there's a good chance they'll murder you.

While I agree with Kneecap that Israel is killing innocent civilians, I don't agree with them expressing supportive slogans about Hamas and Hezbollah. I think they should respect the laws of the countries they perform in.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

I watched it last night - two wrongs and all of that would be my view. Given the views of the Jews in that documentary we’re a million miles away from peace in the Middle East.
However I also don’t support the terrorist organisations mentioned by this group and 100 of those documentaries wouldn’t make me change my mind - I never had sympathy for the IRA nor did I have a good word for Margaret Thatcher and her government - in Ireland, we had John Hume and the SDLP taking a different route to peace- if there’s a Palestinian equivalent they’re certainly not being heard very clearly but I don’t at all condone the terrorist route.

In terms of kneecap, now that the anti terrorist unit of the UK police force are involved, there’s every likelihood a prosecution will take place regarding their comments around death to MPs- these guys are not known for their sense of humour.

Just like you don’t joke about a bomb in your luggage as you approach an airport security checkpoint, there are certain things that will draw the attention of authorities towards you in 2025- in fact, I would have been more surprised had they not found themselves subject to investigation - some people are just thick and I think that label can be given to members of kneecap very easily.
It’s not an attack on their song writing -these comments aren’t part of any freedom of art expression - they’re stupid and ill thought out comments and acts which serve no purpose - the band deserve whatever is thrown at them
