Kneecap - New Footage

Haven't seen the videos, but when I was growing up it was very common to put "sinn féin" and "IRA" into the lyrics of The Fields of Athenry.

They have been very good in promoting the fact that this war didn't start on Oct 7th, in fact it started many, many years before.

If this brings up that fact again, so be it.

They’ve put a huge target on their backs, the witch hunt is underway. If they play another gig in the US or UK I’ll be surprised. Attracting sponsors for the US tour isn’t going to be easy now.

I’m surprised they can walk with balls that size. Have to admire them.

They can shout support for whatever group they want, but calling for MP’s to be killed isn’t clever.

I really dislike this modern repainting of the Provos as some kind of good guy folk heroes, so I kept my distance from Kneecap. But then on seeing the film, I appreciate their humour and that they also take the piss out of the provos.

But saying the only good Tory is a dead Tory is not all that humourful or tongue in cheek... And you can support Palestine and criticise Israel without going as far as supporting Hamas. I draw the line there as i do with the Provos for targeting innocent civilians.

Never heard of the conflict in Gaza until these heroes highlighted it at a concert.

Pity every other celebrity under the sun isn't talking about this incessantly. Such stunning bravery on show here.

I really hope this doesn't end their music career, as the next step on the entertainment circuit is to publish a cookbook or become mental health advocates.

I could never understand how they named a band after a particularly brutal form of punishment which was used to control people.

Unsurprisingly people in the UK don't take kindly to calling for the murder of elected politicians.

The band have made their their bed, let them lie in it.

They're insufferable. Too many threads on these lads. When are their 5 minutes up?

It is, partly. But the spelling is deliberate. Great joke. They're also middle class, so the idea that they were ever at risk of kneecapping is pretty laughable really.

It's all about image. And that's the image they've chosen.

I was being sarcastic. I knew people who were kneecapped back in the day, including one for the crime of refusing to let certain people into the disco where he was on the door.
