Kneecap - New Footage

I have to admit, I was one of the many people that supported Kneecaps public stance recently on being against the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza and how vocal they were at Coachella.

They stood by their morals and the morals of most civilised people throughout the world I thought - fair dues.

Now however it seems theyve played right in to the hands of the Zionists by having new video footage emerge from a gig they held in November 24' in the Kentish Town Forum where a band member was shouting "Up Hamas, Up Hezbollah' and they displayed the Hezbollah flag.

Theres also another piece of footage from November 23' where the band were shouting "The only good Tory is a dead Tory…Kill you local MP" and this has now started an anti terrorist investigation in the UK.

Have they gone too far with all this and discredited themselves or do you support them, just interested to see if these new videos have swayed public opinion on them.

Can you provide a link to the videos so I can watch them?

Haven't seen the videos, but when I was growing up it was very common to put "sinn féin" and "IRA" into the lyrics of The Fields of Athenry.

They have been very good in promoting the fact that this war didn't start on Oct 7th, in fact it started many, many years before.

If this brings up that fact again, so be it.

Im enjoying how they are annoying people and shining a light on the slaughter of innocents while everyone watches…..have i listened to their music or actually care what they say at their gigs otherwise?….No!!

They’ve put a huge target on their backs, the witch hunt is underway. If they play another gig in the US or UK I’ll be surprised. Attracting sponsors for the US tour isn’t going to be easy now.

I’m surprised they can walk with balls that size. Have to admire them.

They can shout support for whatever group they want, but calling for MP’s to be killed isn’t clever.

It always surprises me that with regards to, "The land of the Free®" people are complimentary when people stand up for what they believe in.

I really dislike this modern repainting of the Provos as some kind of good guy folk heroes, so I kept my distance from Kneecap. But then on seeing the film, I appreciate their humour and that they also take the piss out of the provos.

But saying the only good Tory is a dead Tory is not all that humourful or tongue in cheek... And you can support Palestine and criticise Israel without going as far as supporting Hamas. I draw the line there as i do with the Provos for targeting innocent civilians.

Fair enough if your against the war but showing support for organizations that are completely opposed to enlightened liberal ideals, that just shows them up as dopes.

Never heard of the conflict in Gaza until these heroes highlighted it at a concert.

Pity every other celebrity under the sun isn't talking about this incessantly. Such stunning bravery on show here.

    Glazers Out!

A group of rappers express support for terrorists and religious extremists who have murdered babies with their bare hands and attacked, eh, festival goers, and call for the murder of more politicians like David Amess, not four years after his murder, and you think they're brave? Really?

At least they were honest and just committed to supporting Hamas and Hezbollah rather than trying to pretend otherwise in their shared hatred of Israel.

They've gone down a lot in my estimation for shouting that nonsense.

Im all for exposing Israel and their genocide, but shouting support for people who slaughtered children in cold blood is another thing.

In terms of their career, this will be a massive own goal.

Do we now say kneecap shot themselves in the foot?or should hhat be the kneecap?

That probably concludes the kneecap story. The whole Irish media and online circus around them was utterly tiresome anyway.

I really hope this doesn't end their music career, as the next step on the entertainment circuit is to publish a cookbook or become mental health advocates.

They'll still keep making music, pushing their causes, making money.

And it will enrage so many people because they'll never apologise for what they believe in..

If that sounds familiar, it's probably because it's exactly what right wingers do.

I could never understand how they named a band after a particularly brutal form of punishment which was used to control people.

Unsurprisingly people in the UK don't take kindly to calling for the murder of elected politicians.

The band have made their their bed, let them lie in it.

They already have a Temu Blindboy Boatclub to lead the mental health phase.

LOL they took that name because that's who they are. I don't know why people are surprised at any of this.

I always thought it was borne from an anglicisation of, "Ní ceapaim" - "I don't think so"

They're insufferable. Too many threads on these lads. When are their 5 minutes up?

Calling for people to “kill their MP” is totally unforgivable, even if they are being “ironic”.

The most embarrassing thing about Kneecap is that, for all their performative republicanism, they are desperate to suck at the British exchequer’s tit. So much for having the courage of their convictions, as their manager claims

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,670 ✭✭✭volchitsa

It is, partly. But the spelling is deliberate. Great joke. They're also middle class, so the idea that they were ever at risk of kneecapping is pretty laughable really.

It's all about image. And that's the image they've chosen.

I just don't see the funny side of it.

There's no LOL or joke there for me.

It brings to mind a sad time of punishment beatings and shootings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,670 ✭✭✭volchitsa

I was being sarcastic. I knew people who were kneecapped back in the day, including one for the crime of refusing to let certain people into the disco where he was on the door.

    I see, no offence intended

It's sometimes hard to detect things like sarcasm in the written word.

    this time next year

    “Knock knock “

    “ who’s there “

    “ kneecap”

    ” kneecap who”

“ that’s show business for ya”

Calling for people to kill their MPs in England just shows they are as sectarian and bigoted and racist as their fellow Republicans who did actually murder British MPs. Nothing to be proud of, Kneecap let the whole island down.
